Stayed recently for 2 nights for a business conference. The hotel, the reception, the staff and the room are without fault. Such an enjoyable experience in every way. The conference facilities are excellent, very comfortable in the room for the 2 days. My only fault would be that the level of lunch option provided during the day of the course was not varied in any way, there was a rice/Asian dish served on both days, with small salad selection. I opted for rice/salad and while they were very tasty, I would've enjoyed another option to Asian food. Bar food was gorgeous however for evening meal. Will absolutely be back, excellent location for Dublin City Centre, approx. 4 tram stops from directly outside front door of the hotel. Gym facilities are fantastic, nothing missing, even has fridge stocked with cold towels and is very regularly checked by staff.
I stayed here with my fiancée over a weekend in January. The hotel was very easy to get to, we took a bus straight from the airport which took about 15 minutes. The hotel is opposite the 3 Arena and there is a tram line which is right outside the hotel which can take you into town about 10 minutes away. There isn't a lot to do in the area of the hotel but this could be a blessing when you want to get some well deserved rest.
"Some hits, some misses. But nice overall."
Overall a great place for very good value in an expensive city. Positives : So easy to get to. Terminus of luas line is 10ft from hotel entrance. 5 minutes luas from city centre. Breakfast included when booked directly with hotel. Breakfast was brilliant with lots to choose from and even a soya/ gluten-free area with a few options. Rooms are large, modern and well fitted. Bathrooms are large and very nice. Large beds with plenty of room-space. Large walk-on balcony with views of the city. Nice views of city from virtually anywhere in hotel. Spa is great with two huge copper baths on an outdoor deck with views of city/dock areas. Negatives: Spa not advertised at all, not on website or in booklet provided in hotel room which outlines hotel facilities. Which is sad because it is such a hidden gem. Walking in bare feet in room i stood on a piece of glass however it was granulated when it broke so was not sharp and i wasn't hurt. No robes to go to spa in room, called reception 3 times and no answer. Asked man at reception and he said he would get them delivered to room. That took over 30 minutes. No plastic bags in spa to carry wet clothes in. And despite small lockers being provided in spa, none had locks so we were forced to carry our gym bags into spa and out onto rooftop area with us. So a nice, good value place to stay but lacking a few common sense things that could really make this a top hotel.
"Great hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre"
Our check in was efficient and friendly and our room was very well decorated and warm. Great shower too! The hotel is a bit out of the city center but that suited us fine, the tram is right next door and it's easy to get into the city. There is a lot of building work going on in the area but you can't hear anything in the hotel. All in all a good stay. Would definitely stay again.
"Hated the decor!"
This is a conference hotel, and I was told the decor (grey with puce) was designed for younger tastes. I thought it was atrocious. The art in the room was so bad we covered it with towels. Some of the staff at the reception desk were particularly gracious, while two in particular were rude. I tried to talk to the manager to say I would prefer telling him or her rather than write this review, but the person at the desk insisted I tell him, and I doubt he bothered to pass my comments on. I was disappointed and would not stay again--even for a conference. The location is not good if you want to visit Dublin.
