"Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff"
We stayed in Room 675 - A balcony overlooking the port, the 3 arena and the Dublin mountains. Check in was good, there was a wait but they have a seating area so you can just all keep moving along. Check in was easy - Parking was free (Note this if you are coming to an event as no need to pre-book and pay for it) Room was gorgeous, really modern, big bed and great blackout blinds!! Quiet and I managed an entire nights sleep which is unheard of for me as usually the noise wakes me. The only thing I could fault in the room was the TV channels were blurry but we didn't stay here for the TV!! The hotel is literally a stones throw from the 3 Arena and the last/first Luas Stop. So, we checked in at 3pm, dropped our bags and headed onto the Luas. In a few minutes we were in O'Connell street and walked up to Grafton Street, a look around the shops, walked to Temple Bar to eat, walked over to Henry Street and took the luas back to the hotel. At the hotel we were going to have a drink in the bar before heading over to the gig in the 3 Arena. This was the only downpoint, the bar was jammed, they let us into the bar in the restaurant but this was also jammed. Not sure if everyone using the facilities was staying in the hotel but they really could do with extending the residents bar as this was the only other negative!! We walked to a few bars after the gig. Spencer Dock is lovely, just walk down along the Luas line (Footpath, not actual luas line!!) and there is Ely Wine Bar which has gorgeous vault bar in cellar and you can sit in a heated outdoor area overlooking the dock. Across the road is The Harbour Master Bar, nice pub, stayed here until closing and then walked back to the hotel (10 minute straight line walk) Back to hotel where there were alot of very drunk people milling around. Alot of them weren't staying in the hotel so again I think the hotel should have a policy of residents only. The staff dealt with everything though and plenty of staff on hand. Slept really well, down for breakfast which is a buffet style - Very expensive I thought €15 pp for what I had cereal and poached egg but it was nice!! All in all can't really fault it, if I was going to a concert would definately stay here!!
"All round great hotel."
This was my second time staying in the Gibson and I couldn't recommend it enough. It is located directly across from the 3 arena so it's ideal for concerts but even if you're not attending a concert, the luas is right outside the door and it's less than a 10 minute journey to Dublin City Centre. We arrived really early (10am) on the morning of check in. We knew we wouldn't be able to check in but went to reception with a query about the car park. The lovely lady at reception helped us with our query and also said she would check if there was a room available for us and there was. We were very pleasantly surprised as this meant we could go into the city and not be in a rush back to check in or drop our bags. The rooms have fabulous interiors and are spacious and bright. We didn't have breakfast this time but I did last time I stayed and there was massive selection. I really couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
Ideal if going to a gig in the 3Arena as its right next door. Car spaces located in the 'Point Village 'car park which is an extra 14euro you can pay this when checking in. Luas line is right outside the door which brings you to the centre of Dublin. Easy check in on arrival, Bedroom is perfect in size with all the essentials. Bathroom was amazing with 2x head showers! Extremely clean throughout the hotel and the bed was super comfortable! We Ate in the restaurant (Asian dishs) in the hotel, Veg homemade soup which I cannot fault! Staff here are a credit to this hotel!! 5* in the making and I will return
"Great hotel with professional and helpful staff."
We arrived at the hotel at 10.45am and met with Agatha at reception. This was very early and did not expect to be able to check in but had a question regarding parking. She could not have been more helpful. She checked us in right away and gave us our room key. She was so pleasant and professional. She is a real asset to the hotel. Room was really nice. Bed was very comfortable. It is an ideal place to stay when going to a concert and is only a couple of stops on the Luas from the city centre.
