"Uphill Walk Can be Challenging"
The Golden Wheel was located in the middle of the hill leading to the Prague Castle. Slight uphill location can be a challenging walk for elderly and for people with disabilities. Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel located in an old building. Hotel interiors were cool. The room and the bathroom were large and nicely decorated. The complimentary wireless internet connection was fast. There was a change office just in front of the hotel. The breakfast was not included in our hotel rate. Beside the hotel we were able to find a lot of nice cafes for breakfast with better price than the hotel's offer.
"Great hotel in great location"
What a great hotel in a superb location. Small hotel approximately 15 mins walk from Prague Castle uphill and 15 mins to Charles Bridge downhill. Lots of small bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk but still a nice quiet area. Hotel staff are fantastic and very helpful with any local information you may need. Excellent buffet breakfast. Little warning, the hotel is on a fairly steep hill if you are not the most mobile. In summary superb and will stay there again.
"Perfect little hotel."
Really beautiful boutique hotel right by Prague Castle. The hotel faces onto the main street leading up to the castle (about half way up the hill), but once inside it's so quiet, cosy and welcoming. The room was beautiful, we were in 102 at the front of the building, which had incredible painted ceilings. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful both on arrival and in correspondence before hand. I had ordered their "romantic package" as it was my boyfriends 30th birthday, not only did they upgrade our room, there was a birthday cake waiting for us! It really made the weekend extra extra special, and I couldn't be happier that I chose this place. A lot of people have mentioned the walk up the hill, but really it's not an issue at all. The steepest bit is between the hotel and the castle, but very manageable. It's a 5 minute walk to Charles Bridge in one direction, and less than 5 minutes to the castle in the other direction. There's plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby, though you might want to walk down the backstreets a bit to get away from the general tourist places. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel (300CZK pp) but there was a great little cafe a couple minutes walk away, Bread Gap, where we had great coffee and eggs each morning. Couldn't recommend this place enough! p.s if wifi is important to you, the wifi is excellent too.
What a lovely hotel this is. It's really well placed about a 5 minute walk up the hill to the castle and 10 minutes walk to Charles Bridge. The rooms are really clean and well kept. The only downside for me was the bed was really hard, but that's probably my only complaint. The mini bar is well stocked and not priced too badly. Breakfast was a buffet, with a reasonable selection of cake, pastries, cereals etc. Not much in the way of hot food apart from Prague sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs. All in all a great little gem and I would fully recommend staying here.
"Great location very nice stay ! "
Everything was fabulous. we arranged with the hotel to be picked up from the airport. Reception was very thorough about all the info we would need during our stay. The amenities available were great! Location is probably one of the best in the city. Breakfast was very nice, definitely a full choice breakfast Buffett . Rooms were very comfy and soundproof. I do have to say that I was on the top floor so it kinda got stuffy at night. I opened the window and that worked great. It was a bit noisy but that's not the hotels fault. Overall my stay was great! I would recommend it and stay here again.
