"Bad service and a rip off!"
This place is so far from everything, it will be an inconvenience if you want to do anything but stay in your room. The service is horrible, the rooms smell bad, all restaurants, bars and room service close before 10 pm and they do no allow you to bring food on the premises or order out. There's rarely ever a parking attendant around and when they are, they don't speak much English, move your car when you don't ask and for me personally, they caused thousands of dollars of damage to a brand new Mercedes. If you find anything wrong with your car, the hotel will do nothing about it, they put the responsibility on minimum wage drivers, although the front desk attendant actually took my keys since finding a parking attendant is a hard thing to do and no self-park is allowed. Besides this, the hotel overcharged me and there is only one manager on the premises that can do refunds and that person is never around and after 10 days of complaints, they went to the bottom of his very big pile to find the refund request that the front desk left for him and went and processed it finally. If you don't want to spend your vacation frustrated or weeks of your post vacation, avoid this place!
"Exclusive ocean view dinning!"
Excellent food, gorgeous ambiance, breathtaking ocean views located in an exclusive beach club in Coconut Grove. Dinning inside or on the beautiful terrace you will get a perfect view of the bay. Free valet parking is available at the entrance. The only downfall is that the service is a little slow.
"Storied Restaurant Location Hits Rock Bottom"
This is just a review of the restaurant. (The hotel is half closed). We have been coming to this restaurant (under various managements) for many years. The location and views are some of the best in Miami and the restaurant has always had a "high end" reputation as Ballen and then Gibralter. A few years ago the Club was taken over by new management and they spruced the place up and changed the name to Palmeiras. I guess their plans are not a success, because they are running it in to the ground. We went for dinner the other night. The food was some of the worst I have ever eaten - burnt chicken with a flavorless sauce and thick sticky spaghetti. The service could not have been more indifferent. The only thing that has not gone down is the prices. Its clear that this restaurant will not be around long as evidenced by the near empty dining room. Sad.
"Impressed with the views "
After scheduling a business dinner here at the request of customers, I was thoroughly impressed upon walking in. There is a lovely dining room with indoor and outdoor seating and water on three sides. The food was delicious. I had the Branzino which was excellent as well as the beef carpaccio appetizer and the crem brûlée for dessert - all met or exceeded my expectations. The only thing that was not excellent was my cappuccino which I think had curdled milk in it because something was in my coffee and that's the only way I can explain it. Had that not have happened, the experience would have been outstanding. Overall, food was very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and I was impressed with the ambience. I will return.
"An Island paradise full of happy people."
I loved the history of this wonderful resort. It was a short trip from Miami, but you felt like you were miles away from the city and surrounded by nature and the ocean. I loved sitting on the balcony and watching the beautiful sailboats go by and the birds singing in the palm trees. I loved the mile trail around the island where everyone was walking. The restaurant was awesome with the view right on the water, excellent food and friendly staff. Thanks Sophia for your help in getting us the perfect room with a gorgeous view. I never wanted to leave the resort, but our family decided to do a trip to Key Biscayne only about 9 minutes from the resort. It was an amazing beach and rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world and has a working lighthouse you can tour. There are so many things to do in Miami, but it was hard to pull myself away from this peaceful, happy island.
