"The Best Location in Prague"
Booked the Iron Gate Hotel & Suites for a short break (4 night stay)with my wife and two boys 18 &15. We booked the Iron Gate Hotel after recommendation from friends who stayed with the hotel this summer. We booked a Superior room for the boys and a Junior suit for my wife and I, the boys were ate the rear of the hotel and my wife and I on the front. Both rooms were large and airy and were spotlessly clean and had ,the bathroom spacious. The Hotel is just off the main Sq and just so convent for Restaurant and bars. We had a fantastic time at the hotel and will return soon.
"Excellent location, beautiful room "
Booked and stayed here from 10th - 13th October for 3 nights in a Junior Suite. We had room 105 on the first floor and it was huge, it had an area by the door for bags shoes, a little desk area and then a big room with wardrobe, tv, 2 sofas, a king size bed, a chair and mini bar etc which we didn't use but was reasonably priced I was a little worried from reading some reviews but I loved our stay, so close to the old town square and clock, 1 - 2 minute walk tops! The reception staff and waitresses were nice and just left you to it, but friendly if asked anything. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet, more than ample choice, and sausage, eggs and either bacon or beans were the hot choice when we we're there. Always offered coffee or tea. Lift was reliable and didn't break and the decor in the reception and breakfast room was really nice. We liked it Housekeeping was excellent, clean towels everyday and the room was like new. There are also robes and slippers to use Wifi was free and really reliable didn't drop out once on us. Toiletries were really good too The security staff aren't rude like other reviews state, if you smile and say hello they are more than pleasant back When we return to Prague we will definitely book here again - hopefully we'll be back to see the finished renovations which look like they'll be amazing Thank you for a great base and place to stay whilst exploring Prague
"Location is the best"
Location of Iron Gate Hotel is perfect . Big rooms Junior suit (Double normal room of other hotels) with special painted wooden roof. Good design . many many restaurants nearby . 1 minute by walk to the famous clock of Prague.
"Fantastic Hotel wonderful staff"
As a frequent visitor to Prague I wanted to show my elderly in laws, the city. Both are over 80 years old. In particular my Mother in Law who is not very mobile was celebrating her 80th birthday. I booked two standard rooms in the Iron Gate Hotel, Prague from 10th to 14th Oct. The hotel is situated a stone’s throw from the Old Square and surrounded by many fine restaurants, hair dressers and various shops. However the street remains quiet. The hotel arranged transport from and to the Airport which was discounted and paid to the driver in cash. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Hotel had upgraded both our rooms to a Junior and deluxe suite due to my Mother in Laws birthday. The staff, especially in the reception area was extremely understanding and helpful. The managers in particular were very attentive towards my in Laws and catered for their every need as were the breakfast staff. The rooms were immaculate and large with well appointed bathrooms. Beds are really comfortable and tea and coffee facilities are provided Free WiFi which is always welcome. The breakfast is a typical continental style with a hot and cold buffet, well cooked and laid out. The hotel and bar (Prices are reasonable in the bar) is pleasant with a good atmosphere and wonderful furnishings. There is a lift which assisted my Mother in Law in getting to her first floor room. Bags were lifted from the taxi to the rooms by the staff and loaded into the Taxi upon departure. I cannot praise this Hotel and staff enough. They helped to turn what could have been a difficult trip into a pleasure and I will certainly be staying in the Hotel again. The hotel has a homely feel to it. It is the best hotel I have stayed in in Prague I must mention that the hotel is going through a fantastic refurbishment that does create a little noise at times but always after 8am and once your door is closed, the odd sounds really does not matter. There are also black suited security men stationed near the reception that serve to make one feel safe within the hotel. However after 5 or 6 trips to Prague I have never seen a drunk or any kind of violence in the streets of this beautiful city
When we first arrived for our 6 night stay we were ushered to a huge attic room. Very clean, but dark and we worried about the last set of winding wood stairs leading up to it after a few nights. We requested a change to a lower room, and it was honored immediately. The room was beautiful, large, and lovely. Overlooked courtyard, and we were not troubled by any construction that was ongoing at the hotel. The cleaning staff did an amazing job with our room, and the man who carried our luggage, God bless him,it was quite a feat, and he did so without complaint. The hotels location is just great. Quiet street, but a few hundred yards from everything. Every one of the front desk staff were courteous and helpful with directions, arranging day tours, dinner reservations, and airport transportation. When renovations are complete it will be a gem of a place to stay. The only downsides to the hotel was having breakfast in a windowless cave that smelled a bit, watching two of the wait staff having a loud argument during breakfast, and the humorless guards at the door, that after six days one would of thought that they would have recognized us. If it's for safety reasons I understand, but we watched several suspicious young women entering and leaving right past them, if you get the implication. Definately not guests at the hotel! That being said..overall a positive experience.
