Very unique hotel in a great downtown location. Loved the character of the rooms as well as the french doors and outdoor seating area overlooking the courtyard. Very private and quiet and enjoyed a fantastic dinner at George restaurant, located on the ground level. All of the staff from booking through to checkout were very responsive and professional. Excellent choice for a weekend away.
We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was perfect. This hotel is owned by the women's club and was originally used exclusively by the club for when they had guests in town. Now anyone can book a room if you are lucky enough to nab one. There are only four rooms in the entire hotel and they are separated away from the rest of the club so it is very quiet. The rooms are very large with a king bed and beautiful full wall windows with a door onto a private balcony. Each room is color coded and unique. the bathroom comes with heated floors, a separate room for the toilet, an amazing shower, and the largest bath tub I have ever seen. I am 6'2" and I could stretch out in the tub with room to spare. The added bonus is the in house made bath salt that they provide in three different scents. You also get breakfast delivered to your door. It is not a large meal but it gets you through to lunch. The last thing I have to say is that you MUST have dinner at George while you are there. This restaurant specializes in tasting menus for all dietary plans. The biggest benefit is that after your three hour multi -course meal you just have to walk up the hidden staircase to your room (never leaving the building). I will definitely stay here again if ever back in Toronto.
We stumbled upon The Ivy when looking for hotels through TripAdvisor, and felt pretty luck to have booked our room when we did. The staff was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the city. In some hotels I've felt nickled and dimed by the extra services even after paying a bunch for the room. At the Ivy, it felt just the opposite since they offered countless small amenities at no charge. They truly go out of their way to offer you the best experience. I would suggest that you book early, since there are only four rooms in the building. Frankly, I'm a bit amazed we got our room. After our experience, The Ivy will be our go to place in Toronto from no own.
"Quirky, but the best room ever"
This hotel is only a short walk from the main centre of Toronto (Yonge Street, Eaton Centre) - we found it online purely by accident. From the outside it doesn't look like a hotel - in fact we struggled a bit to find it when the taxi dropped us off. There isn't much to the hotel but the rooms were simply fabulous. Very luxurious and comfortable with an amazing bathroom, Apple TV etc. It doesn't feel like a hotel - more like an apartment block. I think it only has 8-10 rooms but if you can get in I would say it's one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in.
"Book This Boutique!!"
SSSOOOOOO glad we chose to book this space, despite only being in the area 15 hours. From the moment you walk in, it's pure elegance. Our room (#2 of only 4) was very romantic. The space is absolutely wonderful for escaping into pure relaxation. The 24-hour lounge is a great perk as we were relatively late upon arrival. Beds & bathrooms are great, both of which envelope you in the most wonderful of scents. Have to return for longer. I can definitely imagine the restaurant as well as the spa attached are just as marvelous. A+, 10/10.
