"Beautiful sea views"
We chose this place for the sea views and we were not disappointed. In fact I believe all the rooms at the hotel had sea views. Whilst this meant climbing a lot of stairs to get to and from the pool or restaurant it was worth it. A boutique hotel with charm, the service was great. Breakfast was 24hrs so need to rush out of bed early. Comfy big bed and bathtub and the best mojito cocktail we have tasted for happy hours! The infinity pool was a great place to relax in the morning and with shuttle buses to Lamai and Chaweng beach it helps to get to the main locations. There is no beach at the resort but a 5 min walk down the road and you have nice little cove to chill at. The hotel is located between Chaweng and Lamai beaches but not within walking distance. That's the only downside to this place. But again for some peace and quiet with fantastic views, it's worth it. I would say if you aren't fond of walking up and down a few flights of stairs that it would be best to give it a miss. Kids would struggle.
"Loved This Hotel!"
I loved this hotel. We paid for a deluxe room and it was totally worth it. We were given a room on the top level (4th floor) looking directly out on to the ocean and it was amazing. The pool here was great to relax at...we camped out there all day on our last day there. Breakfast was included in our room rate and the front desk helped us get a ferry to/from Koh Tao the night before we wanted to go. The location is near Lamai beach which is one of the calmer beaches (especially compared to Chaweng Beach) which was perfect for my trip. I'd definitely stay here again. The bathtub was so big even my 6'2" fiancé fit into it and the shower was pretty great as well. I loved everything about my stay here. We had free internet too.
"What could have been an amazing experience was just an average one!"
Staff can be more courteous in the kitchen. Not a single did we enjoy our breakfast because of a lady staff who ran the place like her home kitchen so tried to boss around everyone at the kitchen and outside and she was loud. Simple request to warm the milk for my tea became a bitter experience as the lady staff snapped at me saying she just did it and it was cold milk. We didn't know in a place as highly rated as Kala Samui can even hire staff like her. Next day Madam knocked our door so loudly when our baby was sleeping and asked if we had ordered some food. She was loud that my baby woke up crying aloud. So as another reviewer mentioned here, no kid friendly, also because of the 50 + plus stairs you need to take up and down everyday to the lobby whichever room you are put up. I had complained to the manager in the lobby and the nice lady said she will address the problem and the lady staff apologised to my husband for waking up my baby and completely refused to even look at me the next day! We had a problem too with the wifi in the room as we were given one of the rooms at the corner as per request since we have an infant. We didn't want others to be disturbed and vice versa so the wifi was terrible for the first 3 nights and nice Manager (lady) again fixed the router right outside the door of the room so we could get good access. Unless brought into notice, most things were just like an normal hotel. wouldn't go back to stay here. Cleaning staff didn't do a good job too because when we gave back we found a lot of dirt in the toilet as well as washroom areas. she didn't even look like she moved a thing in the toilet. I say she because all three days it was the same lady walking in and out. Could've been an amazing experience but turned out to be just ok.
"Good but could improve"
We were not welcomed on arrival. We saw in coming days the welcome treatment others received upon arrival. Inconsistent. Breakfast conveniently runs all day but some items are not fresh. Our pancakes arrived within a minute of ordering and were cold and undesirable; pineapple writhered and dry. Eggs ordered fresh were excellent. Again some inconsistencies. Staff members were great and always were helpful and smiling. The spa is lovely but understaffed. The taxi driver was hilarious and went above and beyond when I became ill. We were disappointed that our account was not ready upon check out despite advising the night before that we were going to check out and required a taxi. The wifi worked sparingly in the pool villas. A good stay but some attention to detail could make it really great.
Loved this resort. Great location on a cliff, and inexpensive. Great Thai hospitality. Beautiful scenery throughout, I will be back. Brilliant spa treatments and close to everything. The rooms were stylish with views forever, what a resort!
