"Just doing their job"
When the hotel is busy, forget about service and warmth. Everyone is just doing their jobs, to complete their tasks. Especially so in the coffee house. No coffee until umpteenth requests, soiled plates not cleared during breakfast hence inconveniencing the second return from the breakfast buffet, the extraction system in the coffee house is bad. After your meals, you would smell like you've been working in their kitchens. In the gym, it's so impersonal. Their Trainers make you feel unworthy whilst at the free weights area because they are paid to be coaching their gym members. I was not even finished with the dumbells and he was standing next to me looking impatient waiting for them. If there is a staff worth a mention, it would be Jit Tender at the coffee house. He goes the extra mile in making sure guest needs are taken care of. There was also a stench in the water from the shower in the bathroom. This is not an 'India' thing because I didn't encounter it in Mumbai at the Hyatt. Avoid the rooms facing the highway at the back. Music from the wedding parties are blasted so loud that I question if the windows are even double glaced for soundproofing.
"Dehli / Agra Tour"
After 7 days in Goa we had planned a two night stay and tour to Dehli and Agra. We chose the Lalit for its reviews and location to Connaught Place. The hotel is lovely with good friendly welcoming staff. Connaught Place is a safe ten minute walk with all the high street stores , plenty of restaurants and bars. The only thing was we knew it was going to be more expensive in Delhi than Sleepy Majourda Goa however 14 pounds for two small bottles of Kingfisher beer was a little steep in our opinion Finally you are asked for a credit card at check in to cover any usual extras however we had only brought our debit card and cash for the two day trip. We gave our debit card and then told they had taken 10,000 Rupees and could not refund this back because it was not a credit card'' So make sure you have a credit card. We will be given the 10,000 rupees back as cash when we check out this morning at least this will save going to the ATM again for our last five nights back in Goa. But overall we would recommend staying here if you are coming to Delhi but eat and drink out of the hotel for realistic capital city costs
"Great location, but not free Wi-Fi!"
Pro: - Centrally located, close to metro and Connaught Place. - Helpful staff, getting taxis via the doorman was cheap and fast. - Good breakfast buffet (tip: sit inside for best service). - Nice heated swimming pool. - Several restaurants on premises. Con: - Expensive. - Rooms were a bit worn, e.g. poor lighting, babies crying in other rooms. - Limited Wi-Fi is disappointing (even a local SIM card is much cheaper). - Expensive mini bar (use the WHSmith kiosk down in the metro station).
"Great Short Stay"
A stay of great comfort & ease. Credit goes to well maintained culture at place. Food taste & quality at par. Fantastic service. Extremely courteous & cooperative staff. You feel the care. Nice View from Room.
Stayed over at the Lalit for a night when on business in Delhi. The location of the hotel is excellent-just a short walk from the buzzing Connaught Place. The room was large, well laid out and furnished well. Nothing to complain about any of the facilities-everything up to the mark including an excellent WiFi connection. The staff is courteous and helpful whenever you need them. The breakfast spread was excellent with options galore. Overall definitely recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Delhi. 4.5/5 :)
