"Lovely hotel, shame about the neighbours and the other guests"
There are lots of great things about the Leela Goa: super friendly staff, high quality food at reasonable prices, more sun loungers than can ever be required and a choice of lovely pool or beach areas for lounging. On the less positive side, and not the hotel's fault, there seems to be a constant din emanating from the Holiday Inn next door and there's a high number of Russian visitors, the majority of whom seem pretty disrespectful of staff and their fellow guests. A couple of minor points which could easily be improved: a shop selling basic toiletries & snacks would be handy and the evening ambience is not as good as it could be with the lobby bar not at all conducive to an after dinner cocktail as it's very warm and seems to be used by thoughtless parents as an overspill crèche from the buffet restaurant.
One of the best properties that I have stayed ever !! Came back from there today only. A huge property with riverside rooms gives you a feeling of palatial leaving. Rooms are spacious enough with balcony opening towards rever which winding the resort. A big lawn with golf course adds beauty to the open area. The private beach was the biggest that I have seen for resorts where I have stayed in Goa. Needless to say that staff was extremely courteous and helpful as expected from staff of resort like Leela. The only drawback in my view was food as I felt that verity for breakfast for an Indian was little short of expectation, the main meals were also not great in taste
"Last minute trip to Goa "
My week at the Leela Resort in South Goa was amazing! The staff are incredibly friendly. I have stayed at the Leela Palace in Delhi, so I was familiar with the hotel. However I will say the staff is a lot friendlier and customer service oriented at the Goa property. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful. My friend and I booked the trip last minute because we had grown too cold in Rishikesh. The beach was calm, not too crowded. Hotel restaurants were excellent with many vegetarian options. I can't wait to go back!
I wanted to stay in South Goa for one night before going North. I chose the Leela as looked amazing. On arrival we found out that our reservation had not reached the hotel system and therefore we were not expected. The duty manager took care of rebooking the rooms whilst we walked around admiring the beauty of the resort. We spent a fun afternoon by the pool and had dinner at their shack on the beach with live singing. We also took a walk to the end of the beach at 7.30am which was the highlight of the stay. The beach was empty and simply stunning. The choice for breakfast was endless. We managed to sit on the beach for a short while before check out. 24 hours of heaven. Great resort and great service.
"Great location, some advice though"
Lovely location and amazing staff,so friendly and helpful. A couple of tips The buffet food is average and a bit like Butlins to be honest, the prawns were from a packet..... and I'm Goa! The best food is on the beach, Mike place does Fresh fish each day and is truly amazing for a fraction of the cost. I can not speak highly enough of the food here. As for massage, it's okay in the Spa but a bit expensive. There is a chap called Khalid, on the beach just down from the sun beds and he is exceptional For peace and quiet head for beach where they don't play annoying 80s music all day like they do at the pool Bedroom is great and the staff can not do enough for you.
