"My hotel of choice near Mumbai airport"
I've always seen this hotel on arriving in India and never been so, having had a disappointment with a different hotel on a previous trip, I decided to book this one. This was NOT a disappointing visit and I hope I shall be back. I was there only for one night in transit but the bedroom was comfortably furnished and quiet and, despite the hotel's proximity to the airport, I had a good sleep in a comfortable bed. The shower, which, to me, is a good benchmark for comparison, was one of the best I've visited in any hotel ever. I visited the gym and was pleasantly surprised: it was neither too cavernous nor too weeny, with cool purple lighting and state of the art electronic gym equipment more advanced even than that of my own gym at home in the UK. The usual helpful beefcake was on hand should I have had any queries but the machines were so easy to use that I didn't. I sampled dinner in the restaurant which I thought reasonably priced and with ample variety. It was comparable with the Trident, another favourite Mumbai hotel, but with a more Indian character to the dishes, I would say, and indeed the clientele seems a mixture of international travellers and the local well-to-do youth, which gave it a jolly air. Sadly I was dieting that night but the impeccable staff (if slightly over-enthusiastic for my UK reserve,) persuaded me to try a few tasty dishes. I must say that the white chocolate and pistachio Bavarois with its integral prune puree was one of the most delicious morsels I have sampled this year. A good night's sleep and then a good breakfast of Indian bent. Small negatives though: the vegetable dim sum is not like anything I've ever had in China, and seeing as though they had a dosa station perhaps they could also offer omelettes and pancakes' Overall a very good stay indeed and very good value compared with some of the hotels in the neighbourhood. I'm booked again for my next trip.
It is the best place i ve ever stayed. Excellent ambiance and feel good service !! Staff in there are pleasant and welcoming . Food quality is the best in the industry. One negative point is the wifi is a paid one and will burn your wallet for sure !
I got a chance to stay at the Leela Mumbai in February this year under one of my plans by My Family Escapes! It is a very nice hotel with superb ambience. Its heritage truly takes you back to the traditional India. The interiors, the decor everything is all so nice about this hotel. Not to miss - food is excellent. I specially enjoyed my buffet breakfasts in my 02 nights stay. If going to Mumbai - one should definitely choose to stay at Leela. I got lucky with My Family Escapes making this booking for me.
The hotel takes you back in time a bit with a traditional look once you enter the lobby. Great ambiance with plenty of space in and around the hotel. Shallow large swimming pool good enough for a pool side party or to have a great time with family. View from the rooms is not that great as I have stayed on 3 floors in past 3 weeks but then it's Mumbai. Food is great with plenty to choose amongst multiple restaurants and bars (incl club on level 8). Love the gym with the mild blue lights and perfect settings for a great workout. I just keep coming back here.
