"What a let down!"

Have stayed here many times, the last being in 2012. Have always enjoyed my experience at The Leela; this visit though was a big let down! Ended up noticing so many tiny flaws and problems that this stay was far from enjoyable. 1. The door opening system is the swipe-down system which, as a rule across hotels in different countries has never been smooth for me and I need to swipe at least 2-3 times before I can actually enter the room. 2. When I woke up the next morning, I was shocked to see that there was no dental or shaving kit in the room! I had to specifically call housekeeping and ask them to send it. Isn't it standard' 3. There are no accessible plug points! There is one near the nightstand but that is a 3 pin ('American) socket in which my regular iPhone charger did not fit. Tried the point in the bathroom - did not fit either (It was not the 'only for shaver' type of point). Finally the only Type C/Type D plug point was the one in the entry passage at foot level. Even the working table/desk in the room did not have a electrical point! 4. Indians - beware! The world knows we wash and not wipe. Hyatt came to India and quickly realised this, Taj has always known this, Marriott has added this to all bathrooms but an 'Indian' hotel chain - The Leela Group doesn't acknowledge or offer it. 5. Never have I stayed at a 5-star hotel whose room is actually smaller than my bedroom at home but, this time it was. 6. Two half-liter bottles of water are all that the room offers - inadequate. My stay here was booked through the rewards system of the loyalty program of the Leela - I wonder if I was allotted an ill-equipped, small room, simply because I wasn't actually 'paying' for it' However, all was not bad: the spa, in-room dining, elaborate breakfast spreads and the swimming pool were certainly up to standard. Will I stay here again' Certainly No!

"A Calming Oasis in the Midst Of The Hustle and Bustle of Bombay!"

Stayed here for a few days during a business trip. A very opulent reception area and the rooms and amenities were of a very good standard. As you would expect food, drink and products in the shopping area are quite pricey. All in all a very good experience, helpful staff, the hotel is in a good location and I will definitely return.

"Nice hotel with nice style"

The hotel is located 10min from the airport, you can see the hotel sign as soon as you step out our arrival terminal parking. The hotel is designed on the modern Indian style, and staff are very friendly. you will enjoy the atmosphere from the moment you check in. Rooms are nice and well organized. my 2 negative experience with the hotel. First, the quality of breakfast service, you feel the restaurant is messy and the staff doesn't know what to do, also food replenishment is very slow. Secondly, the experience as GHA VIP guest, you don't feel any difference in service nor you get any of your previlages

"Very nice rooms, great location for airport"

This hotel was for a brief visit to Mumbai and ideally located for the airport which was just a 5 minute drive. The reception and rooms were very attractively decorated and the staff were very polite. It was a nice touch that we were left a cake and flowers in the room as it was our honeymoon! I think this is really a hotel for business travellers however it had a bit more character and was nicer than the usual business hotel. The bathroom was fab - lovely wet room and plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet so we slep well. Breakfast was plentiful and I enjoyed the fresh dosas. We had dinner at the buffet one night which was actually very good - you could have freshly cooked meat/veg skewers which made it slightly nicer than the usual buffet fare. You have to pay if you want wifi which is cheeky - its about £9 a day which is rather expensive in a hotel that isn't cheap! But this was the only negative. It took 45 minutes in the morning to get to the Gateway/Taj Hotel area, and about 1 hour in the evening so if you're mainly in Mumbai to go back and forth between these sights you may want to stay closer. We recommend a trip to Elephanta Island to see the carved temple caves - wow! So unexpected and really amazing.

"Luxurious"

A good 5 star hotel belonging to Leela group. It has carved a name for itself from the start. The lobby, reception, banquet hall, dining places, shops in the campus are all very grand. Rooms are all well maintained and comfortable. Very helpful and courteous staff. Different variety of food available in the restaurants attached. Very nice place to stay in the posh locality where the hotel is situated.
