"Disgraceful customer experience"
For such a famous and expensive hotel, it is impossible to speak with a single member of staff with a ounce of competence! No wonder people think Indian people are a joke. I have just tried to call the hotel FIVE times to ask a question about an item on invoice from last weeks stay - they keep cutting the call off or transferring to another number where nobody answers. DISGUSTING. FIRE YOUR OPERATORS OR TRAIN THEM.
"Great India-style Hotel with all the Luxuries"
Whilst on business in the Mumbai, I was looking for a hotel close to the airport and business districts. The Leela Hotel was in ideally located and most locations are within a short taxi ride. It should be noted that I used a hotel taxi service offering a BMW 5 series for my journey fro the airport to the hotel. This can be charged to your hotel bill but does cost 1,349 Rupees (about £15 or US$ 20) compared with the normal street taxis at about 500 Rupees. Just be aware of the season for your visit, my visit was in September but it was still 28+ degrees Celsius with medium humidity & a lot of rain in an extended monsoon season, which normally finishes in early September. The hotel has a good price for a major Indian city & the staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was easy with efficient processing of my room key. My room rate was limited to Bed only, so breakfast was extra and Wi-Fi access was 199 Rupees for an hour with a variety of other periods covering 3, 12 and 24 hours. My room was a generous size compared with most Indian hotels that I have stayed in. It had the normal facilities such as LCD TV, kettle, clock radio, and toiletries in the bathroom and a hairdryer. I recommend this hotel, its locations and facilities as well as the friendly staff.
"Still the Queen of the Airport Hotels"
I haven visiting the Leela for stays and F&B for over 20 years now ...... and this is still the Queen of the Hotels located near the Airport ..... some of the best F&B options around the area ..... Citrus os still the Best Coffee Shop for Breakfast and Lunch, the rooms are older style but have been renovated and are large, light and airy ...... But..... I am sorry to say the quality of service has dropped badly ...... this now feels more like a business hotel - I took my own bags to my room - and not the 5 Star service that I associate with this property. Well worth the tariff and excellent near the airport.
"Excellent stay in mumbai"
I was in mumbai for a couple of days and my clients booked me in Leela Hotel mumbai. It was my first time here and I had an excellent stay. This hotel is 5 mins away from mumbai international airport. The hotel is nicely designed with the lobby and lower lobby being the center. every corner of the hotel is clean. The room was spacious and well kept. The breakfast was great. They have a wide variety of food. In the lobby, there are several food choices too. Would definitely come back next time.
We stayed at the Leela in Mumbai for the final 4 nights of our trip. This Leela hotel is probably more targeting the business customer, but we'd organised a suite, so it was very comfortable. It also included access to the Royal Lounge which provided access to drinks and nibbles. Given we were at the end of our three week stay, this suited us really well. The hotel is appointed well, with the usual attention to detail that the Leela hotels are known for. It is close to the airport, so very convenient and about 20 mins from downtown.
