The hotel is excellent. Only comment for improvement is to have towels and bed sheets cleaned better - not sure it improved since I've been there (2011). They were a bit yellowish, looking like only sheets. The Italian restaurant at the top is amazing. Do no miss it.
"Congratulations to the staff"
I stayed at Leela Mumbai several times during my business trip, and every time i came back gladly here. The most i liked here it was THE SMELL of the hotel which was pleasant, unmistakable and hung in the air everywhere in the hotel: lobby, restaurant, spa, room, halls, and even in their limousine cars ... The staff - very operational and fast, ready to please you (especially reception, doorman and concierge). The lobby it's impressive, typically indian style; in the evening there is a man who sings local songs in a very indian gazebo in the hotel lobby. The hotel is few streets from international airport and close enough to domestic airport, but very far from city center and touristic spots. However, you can solve this issue for free because the hotel has a free shuttle service to city center and back at fixed hours. The pool is extraordinary in the sunny days - an oasis of relaxation.
"Luxury and fantastic service"
The Leela in Mumbai is one of those rare luxury hotels that is exactly like such a hotel should be. The service is outstanding, and the building is appropriately bling but with lots of character. I got treated like royalty, and it was a real treat. Added to that, the rooms are quiet and comfortable, the hotel is set in attractive gardens with plenty of greenery, the food is very good and the gym is excellent (actually one of the best equipped hotel gyms I have come across, and I have seen quite a few!). It would be a great place to treat yourself on your first night or two in Mumbai if you are on holiday as its near the airport and they'll pick you up in a limo, and as a business hotel it's better than most.
"Master of Courtesy, Must visit for break fast"
I had been a few times to Leela and every time, its hosts surprise me by their extreme courtesy, swift service with awe some assortment in buffet breakfast. It was a business trip and we had asked for a business center for a meeting on flash speed - it was not readily available but they managed to provide a place in split minutes with full fledged facilities.
"One of the best"
What can I say, this is one of the most impressive hotels I have stayed in. The lobby is grand and as soon as you step foot into the hotel you are treated like royality. The rooms are excellent, with all the mod cons. This hotel typifies a 5 star hotel in India.
