Went for a meal with my boyfriend, was amazing from the beginning till the end. All the staff are just amazing and very friendly, very helpful! They have so much care for the customer!! I'm sure you won't regret it. So much comfort, beauty, history and elegance in just one place
"Afternoon Tea "
I had high expectations for this tea and was disappointed, the finger sandwiches were very simple and the salmon tasted like cheap salmon, the scones were very small and plain and the tea had no taste at all, the only reason I gave a three is because the staff was very kind and they substituted the sweets, which I can't have, with a couple more sandwiches and the atmosphere was nice. This is not the best place for afternoon tea, you can look at my other reviews if you want to find better places.
"Birthday weekend in London"
First the good - it's in a great location and it's easy to get to most places from here. If you want to shop it's perfect. The decor is decent and the rooms are comfortable, if I little dated. I have know idea why they put a 90s CD player in the room. The bad - The floors all squeak like mad! If you're not on the top floor, you'll be lucky to get any sleep at all, with people walking around making noise all night. We had drinks before going out on both nights. First time we had a glass of Chablis, which needed ice to make it drinkable. Second night was Champagne, which was also only slightly cooler than room temperature. Breakfast was also pretty awful. We (5) all had eggs which were very over cooked. The mushrooms were cooked in garlic. I would recommend getting take away from the cafe across the road, It's 20 times better! This Hotel is in desperate need of a new Bar/restaurant manager!!!
"Afternoon tea at The Leonard"
We booked for afternoon tea at The Leonard and went along yesterday. I would recommend it highly. The staff were excellent - very accommodating (we wanted to bring our booking forward by an hour and this was no problem) and very welcoming. The afternoon tea was great and exactly what we wanted. It was very nice to be given champagne and not prosecco too. We had a voucher for the team so it was excellent value for money. If you get the opportunity to go, I would certainly recommend a visit.
"A real mixed bag"
Rooms are a good size - we ordered 3 suites, and all had good sized bedrooms, with seperate loung/kitchenette, and seperate bathrooms - overall really good size and value for money for London. As everyone says, great location too - really good wine shop in street opposite, great cafe for breakfast/brunch just across the road from hotel front door too. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, and bell boys try hard too. However, bar/restaurant staff appalling - don't seem to have been trained, Luke warm wine, and appealing breakfast. I'd come back to the hotel, but i wouldnt use the bar/restaurant, but the breakfast across the road on the first day was really one of the best ive had for a long time - so no real need to stay in. Bed's were really comfy, and super kings, despite being described as smaller on web. Lots of creaky floors though, And some road noise on lower floors. To be fair to the hotel, when i mentioned the poor experience, they refunded the breakfast, and took on board the service comments - so i cant ask for much more than that, accepting it had already happened.
