"First Stay at The London NYC"
Was there on business. The room was VERY sacious (not like some of the trendy hotel rooms that are a bit larger than a closet. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Internet was free. I had a bite to eat at the bar and Daniel the bar tender was great. Made me feel like a regular and was attentive without being intrusive. a genuinely nice guy. The service was fast and I had Salmon which was well prepared (not your typical bar food fare). The value for the price of my room was great, especially for NYC. Would stay there again in a heart beat. In fact I am doing so this evening!
"Always good to stay at the London"
I have stayed at The London many times. From the moment you walk into the lobby, people are there to greet and help you. Love the large rooms and living area. The bathrooms are very pretty and I love being in a suite for the price of a regular room. I had room service and the breakfast eggs were yummy.
"Very modern, great spacious suites, but no tub!"
This is an elegant hotel- very well located in the theater district. Very good concierge and efficient ( but not so friendly) people at the desk. The rooms are suites- spacious- but very modern and I found it kind of cold in atmosphere. Nice big shower- but I miss tubs for soaking away the day's demands- . Also hard to use this shower without getting wet before you know exactly what the temperature is. Still you have a big living room and place to do business- and this strikes me as more of a business hotel than not .Room service was good, on time, ( though expensive of course) and while I liked my egg white omelet very much- it was tiny... which, for the price, is kind of absurd and a bit insulting Still, definitely stylish, good service, and commodious.. I would stay here again- but it won't be a favorite of mine- not the hotel's fault- just not exactly my taste in furnishings. .
"Not as luxurious as expected"
This hotel was ok, we requested a suite with a king and a single, had to ask twice before the single got to us. Had to re-ask for extra pillows! No tea making facilities but house keeping brought one up. The maid though, thought it was too much to wash a cup and left it for 4 days - I had to wash it time and time again! Bed was ok but the bathroom was very cold with tiled floors and 'open' shower unit. For the cost of this hotel, I'd expect a lot more - would I return' No chance!
Conveniently located to the fabulous shops of Fifth Avenue, walking distance to the Broadway shows, and close to the trains. The rooms are spacious enough meaning when you open the door there are more rooms then the one you're walking into. My only complaint about the room is there is just one sink in the bathroom (the death of a marriage, lol). The buffet breakfast is also a laugh riot. The charge $30 for practically nothing. We have stayed here four or five times and it's always the same. If breakfast is included in your rate, fine, if not, do not eat here, you'll be sorry. the gym is nice!
