"Room was small, but I'd go back"
Stayed here the night before the blizzard so I could be sure to get to work. Booked it on an app for a single for 170. Checked in after work Monday. Front Desk/check in was smooth and friendly. It's an old building with a lot of retained character which i happened to like. No denying the room was small but it had a comfortable full/double bed and the linens were nice. It had a good sized closet, a desk, and mine had a view of the interior courtyard so it was very quiet. The bathroom was modern, clean, and well appointed. There wasn't a lot of extra space in the room, but it was fine for me. TV was nice and worked fine. There's a nice library with a fireplace off the lobby that's a nice place to hang out. There's a nice small bar/restaurant off the other side of the lobby that's worth checking out. I'd go back if I needed to stay in the city.
"Don't waste money"
This hotel room was very small dirty and dusty the heat wasn't on I had to call downstairs couple minutes later the room got even more colder, the sheet was dirty I don't know why a hotel would put a dirty stain sheet on the bed for guest that's just nasty so I asked for a room changed I got the room next to it ND it wasn't no better because it was still dirty now I'm trying to wonder who they hire to clean these room when I look at my account it say my bill is 446.06 I'm like wow hold up what's this my bill supposed to be 117 how it got to 446 it don't even add this little girl that they got at the front desk was on her phone didn't went we came in didn't even greet us so me and my friends decide to leave too dirty nd checkout what's up with my bill, this little girl gonna tell me how I book the hotel for 3 nights I who her no I book for one night check the receipt from earlier she don't want to check long story short they try to bill me for the wrong stuff don't go here the only thing nice is the entire, look good on the outside but bad on the inside smh didn't even get some money back for not even saying
"Good location for Broadway Theaters"
The hotel is well situated, close to Broadway theaters, walking distance to Rockefeller Center and Central Park. Street is quiet compared to Times Square craziness. Room was tiny and dark with poor temperature control. It was either sweltering unless you turned on the very noisy air conditioning.
"DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD!!!!"
I booked via Expedia, check in date 13th Feb - 18th Feb 2017, I staying in room 411. When I booked with Expedia I checked through the terms and conditions. Our flight departure time on the 18th Feb was at 2239, we planned on calling the taxi to collect us at 1900 which would mean us checking out at that time, only check in time was noted on my booking. On the 18th we went out for breakfast and arrived back at the hotel at around 1300/1330 to which the gentlemen on reception greeted us (by name). We continued to our room to begin packing and getting ready for our departure, there was a call on the phone but nobody on the other end, I decided to pop down to reception to see if anyone had been trying to contact us. When I arrived at reception the gentleman very abruptly said "when do you think you are checking out" to which I responded with our plan above and spoke of our flight times home. He said check out is noon, we where absolutely not aware of this what so ever, we would never over stay out time in a hotel. He then told me I'd already been charged for an extra nights stay ($180) at this point I was extremely concerned that money had been taken from my account without my consent, I did say that in the uk taking monies without my consent is theft and against the law, he responded aggressively "we arnt in the uk" I asked the receptionist if there was any literature or paperwork in the hotel which suggested a noon check out and he said no, my question is how was I supposed to know we was to check out at noon, the hotel debited money from my account on an assumption and without consent. We were not even given chance to rectify the situation by removing our belongings from the room, which given the option we would have waiting in the airport terminal. We had a great time in NYC and felt this last day hiccup has spoilt the trip somewhat.
Great hotel, lovely room, perfect location! Nice and friendly staff, certain staff not very helpful, others couldn't do enough for you. Room was lovely but extremely loud aircon and plug didn't fit in the bath. Otherwise perfect visit!!!!
