"great recovery by the team"
We stayed for a couple of nights. they did not have my booking when we arrived. we had to wait for a while to start the checkin process. The room was tiny but just enough for 2 people. we had few issues but they were resolved by the team. Nadal was kind to show us another room and offered us breakfast too. The breakfast menu was standard still we liked it. it was a good stay and a pleasant experience.
"It is not at all a five stars hotels."
I have been here during a weekend in London. The hotel is placed in a cool area of London nearby the tube and 5 minutes walking to Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Inside I was a bit disappointed of the room: I have paid for a five stars hotels and I have received a super small room super noisy with a little window on an inside awful garden. The heating was broken so the room was really cold. Moreover I needed a landry and as per the instructions I let my laundry bag ready in the room and whereas was written that the service shall be done in 24 hours at evening I have found my stuff in the room still in the bag. No service was provided. To sum up: it is not a five start hotels whereas you paid for it.
"Excellent Hotel located in the heart of the city "
We stayed at the Marble Arch by Montcalm to remain close to central, since I didn't want my parents to do much walking. I had stayed at Hyde Park for the first part of my trip but I am happy with this switch. The staff is extremely warm, efficient and friendly. Can't say enough words to share our experience. Everyone was on the money with requests, but I must make a special mention of Hana & Gail at the front desk / reception. They were also kind enough to help us with late check out as our flight was late at night. The smiling Mr. Mantas who helped us with our luggage was the first and last person we greeted. He was terrific with all that we needed and extremely warm. Lastly, Stefania who was at the breakfast by the second and third morning knew what we liked and brought the eggs and coffee exactly the way we liked, almost every time. She was new at the property but her earnestly and sincerity was heart warming. But for a couple of glitches (the in-room slippers weren't of the best quality and he flush takes some doing to stop), the house keeping did their best for all requests. I would recommend this Hotel to everyone who's looking for a place around the central. It's convenient, friendly, clean and ticks almost all the boxes. (Stayed with parents, two rooms for four nights during the Easter Weekend, April 2017)
"Great staff, nice location, tiny room"
The hotel is located very near Marble Arch but is still rather quiet. Great location for Hyde Park and Oxford st., good bus connectivity and reasonable tube one (central line). Staff is nice and friendly. Rooms are very small but well equipped. If possible choose the double room for one person and the bigger double for two.
"Appalling reservation officers, tiny room and thin walls."
Definitely not a 4-star hotel... more like a 2-star (max) B&B. Had some issues with third party payment (as booked via a travel agent) so had to personally speak to reservation desk on a number of ocassions before arrival just to ensure I could check in without any problems. Reservation officers are generally not helpful and unfriendly - on one specific ocassion, I spoke with Monika S****a and she was outright rude on the phone; she was unwillng to listen to my issues, interrupted while I was still talking and has no customer service or hospitality skills whatsoever. Had the same feedback from the travel agent about her. The issue was finally resolved (just about) after numerous calls with the hotel between the travel agent and I, but it took over a week. Phone service was poor - there were numerous ocassions when the calls were not picked up, and once I was put on hold for more than 5 mins. The room was tiny and so was the bathroom. There was no space on/near the sink to put toilettries and hot water in the shower took ages to get hot. I had room service dinner and specifically requested for the tray to be removed after leaving it outside the door. This wasn't done soon enough and I was awaken in the middle of the night by the noise of cutlery and dishes clinking when the tray was removed (not sure at what hours). The walls and floors are so thin I could hear guests above and outside my room walking around. It is understandable some hotel rooms are not quite sound-proof so you may still hear noice outside the door but to hear people upstairs walking around is simply bad. My dinner was quite tasty (had a beef burger which I believe was from the hotel opposite that's part of the chain) but the eggs benedict I had for breakfast had overcooked poached eggs. On the positive side, the members of staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. Gail and Christian (I think that's his name) were great to help me check in and out respectively. Christian was very apologetic upon hearing the problems I had with the reservation (particularly with Monika). Location of the hotel is great too. I would never return to the hotel (or any of the chains) and would not recommend it to anyone else.
