I don't usually give a hotel five stars but the Montcalm exceeded our expectations. We arrived at 2pm but our room wasn't ready due to a faulty tap that was being repaired. We were offered a glass of Prosseco while we waited. In fact we had two glasses before we went to our room. I must say our welcome by Matha the front of house manager was the best reception we've ever received at any hotel we've stayed in. Our Executive Club room was beautiful and spacious. As was the bathroom. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Over the space of our three night stay we arrived to our room to find wine, chocolate covered strawberries and truffles left for us on two occasions. What a lovely gesture by Marta. If we ever stay in London again the Montcalm will be our choice of hotel, no question. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

"The Royal Treatment for a Family of Three"
First off, The Montcalm is located in a gorgeous section of London. Steps from Hyde Park and green, open space, close to restaurants, the underground, buses, and of course, Oxford Street. (I should note here that the hotel is a couple of blocks from Oxford Street which is far enough that we did not hear any of the noise from the crowds or transportation, but close enough that it was only a 2-3 minute walk.) It was a PERFECT place to vacation with my family for a long weekend, as we had access to everything and found quiet, calm in the hotel when we needed it. The Hotel itself was the most luxurious we've ever experienced. From start to finish we were made to feel like we were the only guests there. Adella and Izabella and the entire front desk staff immediately took us in, pampered us, attended to our every need, and (in particular) made my 9 year old son feel very special. They all have SUCH a way with children and for that reason ALONE the Montcalm will be our only choice when staying in London as a family. The suite was spacious and loaded with amenities. We were so delighted by all we were offered (well stocked in-room bar, soaking tub, breakfast in the restaurant, access to the club lounge for a WONDERFUL "happy hour" each evening, and relaxation in the spa) that our time spent in the hotel was truly a time to recharge for more sightseeing!! They even did a special birthday treat, with balloons, champagne and desserts, for my husband who turned 40 during our stay... we were blown away. We only ate dinner at one of the two restaurants (The Crescent) and can say that the food was absolutely scrumptious. Dinner service was slow (which seemed typical for the city of London overall) but the food more than made up for the wait, and they staff were clearly working hard and were there to help us. The Crescent is also where we had our (included!) breakfast each morning and there was NOTHING more we could have asked for, Breakfast service was perfect.... quick and easy and absolutely yummy! One thing to mention, if you are traveling with your kids, is that the indoor pool and hottub is a part of the spa and is intentionally kept quiet and serene for the spa guests. They have child restrictions during the day, but all is open to children in the evenings. This was perfectly fine for us, as we were out sightseeing all day and were happy to use the pool in the evenings. The staff were flexible and kind and we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything at all, but if your family is choosing a hotel based on having full access to a pool, just be aware of this restriction. Seriously, I would go on, but I think you get the picture. We will be staying at the Montcalm again and again, and we will look forward to it each and every time.
"Excellent staff and great location!"
I had a few nusance issues, which I should have been more confident to address at the time. I'm from a hotel service background and appreciate you just can't please everyone all the time (myself included!). We were kindly upgraded due to a reservation mix up, so I felt to complain churlish. Despite some niggles with my own stay, its a nice hotel in a good location with very attentive and great staff.
"Fantastic Customer Service"
The hotel is in a perfect location. I was very surprised and happy at the service I received from staff at the hotel compared to customer service from other London hotels I have stayed in.The service was amazing, a big thank you to Marta and her staff who made us feel so welcome, the service was really over and beyond. Not only from the front desk but from all areas of the hotel. The hotel has that homely feeling which you do not always experience at hotels. I am a really fussy person so to write a review like this is rare. I would definitely visit again and recommend!
