"Outstanding High Tea"
We were a party of seven and arrived for the 330pm high tea and were warmly greeted by Wilson. This man spent ages with us explaining the various teas, impressed with his excellent brewing knowledge and treated us like absolute royalty for the two hours we were there. We had a wonderful afternoon and the buffet and savoury treats were sensational. We finished off the evening at the Planet Bar for cocktails. A must must must do if you live in cape town. What a beautiful venue. A brilliant afternoon!!!!
A must do when you visit Cape Town. Super attentive friendly staff. High tea to die for! Seating in or outside. Safe parking. Lovely cake, sandwiches and scones. If not a tea fan you can always opt to have coffee or champagne. Highly recommended.
Fantastic hotel with amazing gardens! The rooms were spacious and well furnished. Breakfast are worth waking up for. The food is really good but also the view by the pool is very relaxing. Great service in the hotel and the staff will do their best to help you at all time. Great experience!
"Robin Hood and his Merry Men Live Here"
Let me start by saying this is a gorgeous 5 star property with beautiful rooms and excellent food. They do have an ongoing problem with theft in the rooms. We arrived with our tour group and when we were in a meeting, 3 of our rooms were robbed of our cash. It was very well executed on 3 different floors while we were in the meeting. They obviously knew the exact time of our meeting and took their time thoroughly searching all of our bags to find the cash envelopes we each had gotten as we left the States. B/c we were only in our rooms for a few minutes before having to attend the meeting, we all forgot that we had the cash buried deep in our carryons after a 27 hour trip. My message is this: LOCK UP EVERY SINGLE VALUABLE, every time you leave the room. Theft is an issue throughout Cape Town and the locals simply shrug it off...as it is just the norm. We learned this quickly and the hard way. The reason for the title of my review' We were in the Sherwood Room when the robberies occurred :)
"Elegant, scrumptuous High Tea at the Nelson"
My husband surprised me with this delightful afternoon of both savory and sweet delights. We sat outside, with a stunning view, as we tasted myriad teas served in elegant glass teapots, with soothing piano accompanied by local birdsong to complete the atmosphere. First a round of savories is brought to the table, then scones and then one trundles over to the expansive dessert table to try amazing delights. Highly recommend.
