The hotel is getting by the end off the life cycle , the ware and tear is starting to show everywhere, in the rooms (we had two different ones) and in the spa half the equipment not working in the pool , definitely not a 5* hotel. The breakfast was reasonable, nothing special again nothing to do with 5* Staff is excellent and certainly 5* very friendly and helpful in everything, the setting is beautiful and the location perfect all for sure 5*
"Strange 5 stars"
We expected from these hotel more, then we received!the hotel offers a spa, but only until 9 am or after 9 pm. The hotel has no sports hall, even the treadmill is not. For breakfast, a normal coffee just for the money. At the room no water (free of charge), no cofemashine, no teapot! water not coffee! Room clear and place very nice.
Just the sort of hotel we like - lovely old world building in the centre of the old town and brought up to a good modern standard. We stayed for 2 nights close to the end of our Baltic tour. Our room was large, quiet and pleasant. The public rooms were very attractive, quirky even in a nice way. The staff were attentive and courteous. The restaurant was good but not outstanding. As with all these old city centre hotels car access and parking were not easy but we expect that and try not to arrive at rush hour or late at night. I'd return.
I was excited to stay there after seeing the pictures from the hotel and partly it was wery pleasent. Allthough it is descrbed 5 stars they need only to update few small things that dont cost much. There is no coffe or tea machine in the room, why ' There are no tv stations in english. The SPA is free of use for hotel guests FROM 06.00 - 09.00 in the morning othervise you have to pay for use of the facilities. It is unfortunatly the small things that bothers but the good things are of course the real allso, the room is great, the beds are great, te location is great, the staff is helpful and polite, and all over worth to recommend. Will stay again
"Great Old world charm"
this hotel is as central as you can get. Driving to it is very difficult due to streets made for walkers not cars (an unintended deviation down the wrong end of a one way street got us there!) The hotel is great lots of regency decoration and gold (if you want Baltic Modern then stay somewhere else). Staff were helpful and friendly and the assistant who volunteered to take our car to the car park at the rear of the hotel deserves a special mention, the one way system means that this journey covers 30% of the Old Town! Recommend forget the car when here and walk ,we stayed 5 days and never moved it, lots to see and lots of bars restaurants within 5 minutes stroll. our room was a good size and well appointed . We drove a significant way out of our original journey plan to go to Vilnius and it was definitely worth it and so was the hotel.
