"Nice hotel excellent location, not quite 5 star."
Stayed from 15th - 18th October 2016 with my wife for a long weekend get away. Really good looking and stylish hotel right in the centre of the Old Town and ideal for exploring the city. I paid for a a superior room (412) which although quite small was well appointed and smart, we were on the 4th floor facing onto Pilies St but it was very quiet with no street noise. The bed was really comfortable and wifi worked well. The shower leaked under the glass screen and left quite a mess to clear up no matter how careful you were. The room was cleaned and attended to twice a day with a turn down and chocolate left in the evening...which was a nice touch. Vilnius is a beautiful and you can get around on foot easily and see all the main sights. We stayed for bed and breakfast which was a buffet and plenty of it which set us up nicely for the day. The only thing we felt it could have improved on was the attentiveness and welcome given by the staff. When checking in the member of staff was perfectly polite and professional but could have been a little more welcoming, the same was true of the waiting staff at breakfast (weekdays were better than the weekend staff). Basically though a great stay in an intriguing and beautiful city. Thank you.
"Rebooked to inferior hotel despite payment in advance"
Beware, reservation and agreements not honored. Upon arrival at 6:00pm at the Narutis on Sept 14, 2016 for a 2-night stay we were rebooked to another, inferior hotel. This occurred even though (1) we had paid in full by credit card at time of booking more than a month previous, and (2) the hotel had sent us a “welcome” e-mail 36 hours prior to our arrival. The rebooked hotel was clearly inferior, apparent from the moment you walked into its lobby, heard its name (Ramada, a second level US motel/hotel chain) or compared room prices on hotels.com. The next day we met with a Narutis manager Mr. Mantas Valma (listed as “director of sales and development projects” on his card) and shook hands on an agreement for a one-night reimbursement. I delayed writing a review, but 30 days has now passed and no reimbursement has been received. I have written over 200 hotel reviews from around the world (our bucket list is to visit 100 countries before our time is up) and never have I been treated this way.
"Excellent hotel in the center of old town -"
We two couples stayed here on the third and fourth floors. One couple took the elevator; the the other the stairs. Our room was large with a large bathroom. Beautiful room in an old, updated hotel with excellent bed. Breakfast was an extensive buffet served in the "basement" cellar. Worth a picture! There are many cellar restaurants in Lithuania with a cozy atmosphere and this was one. There is a lunch/dinner restaurant on the main floor with street side patio. The Narutis is a block or so from the University and on the main street filled with shops and a chocolate store.
"Great location but little things let it down"
We spent five days in Vilnius at the Narutis hotel which is in the centre of the old town and in easy walking distance of many restaurants. It is a splendid hotel with lovely flower arrangements in the lobby, which are freshened up regularly. Our room was on floor 5, but the lift only goes up to the 4th floor, as I have recently had a replacement knee it was 24 steps I could have done without, there was no warning ahead of us booking in there was no lift, so beware. There is a spa which is free to use between 7 and 9am, but if you go at 7am be prepared for the desk clerk to switch the lights, sauna and steam room on as you enter so it takes 10-15 minutes to heat up, when it should be ready for 7am when the hotel say it is open. There is a water dispenser in the spa which was empty for all the time we were there and the bike, which is the only piece of apparatus had a seat at the lowest level and as there was no peg to adjust was unusable. The room was OK, not serviced every morning and night and there is seemingly no maintenance done on the rooms, as we had a towel rail that was hanging on with half of a screw, where there should have been two and a lamp that was out in the room, these were fixed once I left a note for the maid, but really these should have been done ahead of our arrival. Our friends had a room where the shower flooded the whole bathroom floor, it was fixed after a couple of days. We had drinks in the lounge and as I like strong tea, I asked for two Liptons tea bags in the pot, tea was OK but they charged €7 for the pot of tea, if you drink tea you will understand why you need two Liptons tea bags!! We were going to eat here on our last night, but after the tea episode decided to take our business elsewhere.
"Weekend with friends"
My friends and I had a great stay at this hotel. The reception is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, and the staff is helpful. The only downside was that we had to pay to enter the swimming pool, but it's free if you go between 6 and 9 AM. The hotel picked us up at the airport at the very reasonable prices. Nice cars and smiling drivers. All in all a great stay, and I would go back to this hotel if ever back in Vilnius.
