How can I begin! Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Service is second to none. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable and the restaurants and food were excellent. I am in awe of how well the Staff is trained. In fact, as we were walking through the hotel one afternoon, Mr Vikram Oberoi was there doing a tasting for a new chef - that in itself shows the attention to detail. As we were so very impressed with the hotel, we couldn't resist disturbing him to share our views. He was charming and welcoming just like all his staff. Although everyone at the Gurgaon was superb, I must mention the Head Chef who took time to talk to us and cook us something special. Just wish there was an Oberoi in London!
"Best hotel on the planet!"
Excellent everything - will surpass every expectation you ever had! Rooms are quite large and the food is phenomenal. It was very sad to leave the Oberoi! The staff are exceptional and the facilities are great.
"Well Worth It"
Beautiful hotel, great meeting facilities, safe environment, delicious food, convenient to airport, easy access to the capital city New Delhi and amazing staff who look after your every need (thanks Vasim!)!
"5 star luxury in hip New Delhi suburb"
This was the starting hotel for our Golden Triangle tour. We are still on the tour and will post on the other Oberois we have come to however, to make it easy Oberoi = luxury Being a city hotel it is less intimate or relaxed than the others we have been in but, it has the same level of service. All staff - and I mean all, cleaners and gardeners included- will stop to give you a traditional greeting "namaste" and yes it can get to be a bit much, but you ease into it. Our room was a premier and it was fantastic ! Very large very comfortable and, as with all the rooms we have had, a butler service! There is a non tipping policy in all Oberois and guests are encouraged to leave tips in an envelope at the end, which again takes a bit of getting used to! Guests are also encouraged to put forward names of those staff who go over and above, and we took to writing their names in notes in our phone to comment on later! Perhaps as consequence, but one would hope more because of training, every member of staff is very helpful, give tips for your day, suggestions for food etc.and they were all good. It is an excellent team Ok you could say you are paying for this level of service! Perhaps! Hotel prices are reflective of a 5 star western hotel, but, the quality is also reflective of that. I would say however that the staff make a difference. We have stayed far and wide and staff here give the impression it's about making your stay better !! There are two restaurants. "361" is the more relaxed multi-quisine restaurant, with the ability to have a wide range including western food! As has been the case wherever we have been in India all staff are "worried" about the level of spice (heat) in the food and, will ask you "how hot" so id encourage you to experiment as the staff will guide you and the chef accommodate We had amazing curry, very good and very aromatic! The other restaurant Amarintas is upmarket Indian. We went for an aperitif and canapés for which we had received an invite at arrival. This I think was more a ploy to get "bums on seats" and that once inside you would be tempted not to leave !! This is perhaps the only negative I would say of a hotel of this class!! The canapés were poor and not reflective of the proposed class of the restaurant but the drink pleasant. There's no such thing as a free lunch eh! That said I'd encourage you to read it's reviews and make your own choice re the food We ventured out for one evening to nearby Cyber City which is wall to wall restaurants! Food is of course a fraction of the hotel cost however very noisy, very busy and very hot!! You will find something to suite your taste!! To get there we used the hotel car - a luxury 7 series BMW - yes at a cost but worth it once at least Overall this is a luxury city hotel, very sleek, clean lines architecture with (at least in our case) fantastic rooms!! A lovely little oasis which we return to tomorrow for our last night !!
Clean rooms, very good service, grounds quiet, and everything seemed like it was not a problem. Silk bathrobes in the rooms were a nice touch, and wakeup routine of 2 calls then coffee/tea served in your room a minute later was very nice for a sleeper like me.
