We had only two nights in this splendid hotel at the beginning and end of a tour, and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff are professional and caring, the facilities are excellent. The rooms are sumptuous, and the bathrooms fabulous. A real highlight was the food. The restaurant Amaranta served the best food that we had on a tour crowed with marvellous food, and as we had a very early flight on our last day we were presented with a lovely boxed breakfast for the journey to the airport. Truly a fabulous hotel, and one I can recommend to anyone visiting Delhi.
"If Only I Could Stay Longer...."
Quick trip to Delhi brought me again to the marvelous Oberoi in Gurgaon. Truly a delightful luxury hotel. Car service from the airport to the Oberoi is too-notch. The staff welcome you warmly and whisk you off to register you in the comfort of your room. Quality fixtures, textiles and features throughout the room. Importantly, light switches and drapery switches are clearly marked and work beautifully. Baths are large bright and luxurious. I am told the hotel facilities are top-quality; will sample next time. I would like to run in the gym and perhaps a bit in the grounds - lovely. The morning breakfast buffet is superb. The dining room is incredibly well-run and staff are friendly. There is an outside seating option on the decorative water pool - perfect for this time of year when the weather is so pleasant. Excellent Hotel. I stay at the Oberoi across India - Trident as-well.
"One of the Best Customer Service hotels in the World"
Summary: Modern hotel that pays extremely close attention to its patrons. The hotel and rooms are very nice, but it is the customer service that really stood out. Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE, clean, good food options in hotel and sister property, spacious rooms, quiet, breakfast included, safe and secure, I could go on. Cons: Gym, Expensive More Detail: I travel a lot for work and this hotel is definitely one of the best. The customer service experience here was unbelievable. At first I thought it was just coincidence, but there were several examples that made me think that this is just normal operating procedures for the hotel. Example 1: There was no Iron in the hotel room, so I requested one for my room. The housekeeping team delivered it, but insisted on setting it up for me to make sure I knew the different settings. She realized that the switch wasn't working on the Iron, so she apologized and ran off to get another one. She came back 5 minutes later and said that all the irons were checked out, so she said that she would complementary press whatever I needed. I asked her if it was okay if I gave her more than one shirt and she said "whatever you need sir". I gave her all my shirts for the week and they returned pressed shortly afterwards. Example 2: I was running low on my travel toothpaste. I didn't say anything to the hotel, but the houskeeper must have noticed and so there was a full tube of toothpaste waiting for me when I returned in the evening, with a nice hand written note indicating they didn't want me to run out of toothpaste during my visit and for me to let them know I need anything. Example 3: I finished my shaving cream and threw it away in the trash can. Again, I didn't say anything but when I returned that evening there was a fresh tube of Shaving gel. Example 4: In conversations with the food manager, my colleague asked for suggestions in the area for some different cuisine. He gave some good suggestions but also said the really nice places were about 30-40 minutes in traffic. He alternatively suggested that if my colleague explained what food he liked, he could have the Chef make something. The chef then came and spoke to us about our likes/dislikes and made an "off the menu" dinner for 4 and the restaurant manager selected 2 wines. Everyone loved it, and it was all reasonably priced. Example 5 - After I checked out on my day of departure, I was in an all-day meeting before going to the airport. I had a number of missed calls on my work and mobile, which I couldn't pick up, but then I received an urgent email from the hotel. Apparently I left my passport in the safe and they were making sure I hadn't left India without it. I had no clue I forgot it, so they really saved me a lot of trouble. The only area of improvement I have is that the gym has some limited cardio equipment (e.g., 1 stationary bike and 2 elliptical machines). But I think most people don't really care about the gym when they are in such a nice hotel :) I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
"Typical Oberai experience - fabulous"
Stylish and very comforting experience as would be expected. Great room, food and service and attitude. Highly recommend for any type of travel as it is an oasis amidst the bustle of New Delhi. The Indian restaurant deserves at least one visit.
"Efficient Service in a Sleek and Modern Setting Excellent Food"
Our arrival at night to the hotel was stunning as you pull up to see the lobby bathed in light and the relflecting pool with lights and torchlight as well. It really set the mood for our Chinese New Year Holiday. The staff was efficient and concerned about our safety following through on the usual protocols but also very warm and welcoming. The hotel room was large and well appointed with great slippers and towels that smell uniquely like you are in a rose and perfumed scented environment that soothes you in amid the hustle and bustle of New Delhi. The service was top notch with people anticipating your needs. The all day dining Threesixtyone was full of choice and great food and the Amaranta was simply in one word: "Incredible". Modern Indian cuisine with a flair. Best of all were the people always attentive and helping us with even the littlest issues and we had one billing issue which was quickly resolved no fuss, no arguments. Terrific stay!
