"Horrible Service! This hotel leaves a bad taste in my mouth!"
We booked a suite at the Ivory tower at the Palms hotel , the reason we picked this hotel was because we stayed at the Palm Place Hotel last year, they upgraded us to a suite as we're expedia silver member! The experience last year was pretty good! we had no complain last year! So we booked the Palm Hotel suite this year, hoping just to have a relaxing getaway in Vegas again! We arrived last week very late almost midnight. I'm exhausted after long travel and delayed flight. Upon arrival of hotel, i was expecting a fast check in, as there's nobody waiting or lining up. The front desk lady took almost 15 minutes to get us our room. so we checked into our room, the moment we entered, it was a heavy smell of smoke in the room, and of cos i noticed an ashtray there. Surprise Surprise ! She took 15 min to get us a smoking room despite our specific request for non smoking room! so we took our luguage all the way down to the front desk and complained! so the lady called out her " Manager" ! Not only did this so called " manager " could NOT help us to change to a non smoking room! he did not even had an idea we booked for a suite! He offerd to downgrade us to a regular Non smoking room because there're no more non smoking suites availble ! of cos i rejected it! So i asked if they've anything they can upgrade us to! I seriously don't think any hotel would take this preference for non smoking room lightly! ( come on! this is a serious health concern at the end of day!!!) Unfortunately, this hotel is an exception! Without even thinking or checking, he said they've no more non smoking suite and gave me this statement with an attitude ..... " Urrrrr... Sorry we have to commit to what you have booked for" I was furious by then and just speechless! come on! you're the one who is not commited to what your customer has requested! So, that night , we were stuck in a suite with a heavy smell of smoke! i was sleepless all night! i felt sick to my stomach, not only to breath all night with the smoke but so shocked that this kind of attitude is still exist in the hospitality industry! I rarely give a bad review to a hotel but this one is of cos one gave me a very bad experience i just got to share!
"Great Nightlife, Amazing Rooms"
I've gone through the crazy Vegas phase, so now I appreciate a casino off the strip. Less people and less traffic. Palms has some awesome nightlife. Bars, and clubs. During the day this place is a ghost town. The most active place is the Hooters inside for lunch and that wasn't very active either. Not much to do during the day. The bars, and clubs are pretty fun and lively at night. Easy to get around on Flamingo to the other casinos. About 10-15 to a casino on the strip, depending on traffic. Room was really nice.
"Very Poor customer Service"
I would never book a stay at the palms My experience is with their customer service very, very bad and rude people. When my wife and I planned our Las Vegas trip we herd of the Palm’s Ghostbar on their 55th floor. Prior to departing our home in New Jersey, I called The Plams and inquired about access to the Ghostbar and weather I could bring a camera and take some pictures. Shirley, the Concierge, person I spoke to stated, yes, pictures are permitted and access to the club requires guest to dress business casual. I was informed that if we weren’t guest at the Palms, a cover charge is required and a table reservation is not required. On Sunday March 19th, we arrived at the Plams about 7:30PM. The Casino was quiet and seemed empty very few people. Wow, what a change from the LINQ and the strip casinos. Seeing this, my wife suggested we check to make sure the Ghostbar is open. I went to the concierge desk and asked. I was told they are allowing people to go up at 8:30 and again I inquired about taking pictures and was told yes. The Concierge had full view of my camera bag. We arrived at the entrance at 8:30. We were the only couple there at that time. Ron, stopped us and inquired about my camera bag. I presented my camera bag and camera, a small Nikon. Ron said I can’t let you up to the Ghostbar and use that camera. I explained to Ron what I was told by customer service and further stated I am willing to keep the camera contained in the camera bag. I want to have a have an evening drink with my wife and share the experience of looking over the city. He barked “the Club doesn’t want people up there with bags I am not letting you up. I did not argue the point further. We left. I understand and accept the fact that The Palms has the right to reject any person for any reason. I don’t argue that point. Perhaps they wanted only young folks in the Ghostbar. We are over 65. However, there is an art to saying no with skill, finesse and never ever be rude. I would never spend money to stay at a Hotel if I cannot have access to all the facilities and amenities offered. For this reason, I rate the Palms POOR.
"Lovely Girls Weekend"
The rooms are wonderful and service from hotel staff is great. I would recommend Nove as opposed to N9ne for dining. Experiences were vastly different in quality of service. Definitely look at clothes at the gift shop. I got a fabulous top for my daughter at half price!
First I want to thank Matthew the front desk agent for the outstanding customer service!!! He welcomed us as if we were family and answered all questions I had to ask. The room was on the 32nd floor with an amazing view, I absolutely loved our room very comfortable and modern!! Would recommend anybody to the PALMS!!!!!
