"Modern rooms and great location"
The hotel is ideally located a short walk from Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly Circus. There is a hop on/off bus stop right across the street. The rooms are small but more importantly, they are clean and modern. I definitely recommend this hotel.
"Newly Renovated with Great Staff "
The hotel is located in the Mayfair area of Westminster (London). This area is the banking area of London. The easiest tube station is Green Park and then a quick walk along Piccadilly to the hotel. If you fly into Heathrow you simply take the Piccadilly line right to the hotel. It's about 17 stops and about 45 minutes but a single train. This property has just finished their entire renovation. The rooms and bathrooms are brand new and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable as you would expect with other Starwood properties. For foreign travelers there were plenty of U.K. Power outlets along with a single continental Europe plug by the desk. There are also two built in USB power plugs for phones or tablets. The bathroom was weird as you couldn't plug a Hair dryer in with a U.K. plug. It would only accept non-polarized US or European plugs. The WiFi internet access was very fast and reliable. Speedtests showed it performed at 20Mbps upload and download constantly. All the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. It seems like the hotel has a very large number of staff. The park across the street also is next to Buckingham Palace. It is a little bit of a walk, but Green Park is quite nice in good weather besides being a place to walk through to get to Buckingham Palace or other places. There are a number of restaurants located in the streets around the hotel. Take a walk and explore the neighborhood. If I end up in London again I would definitely stay at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane.
Unfortunately, during our visit the hotel renovation was still underway. One of the two elevators were out of service and every time, there were queues to go up. The staircase was also unusable to that was bummer. The room size is adequate, but small in comparison to other 5 star properties. I found the location to its most redeeming quality. I am willing (and planning) to stay here again in hopes that the renovations have improved.
"Made me wait for hours"
I came to the hotel around 6am and requested early check in when I made a reservation and they didn't give me a room till hours later. People came and checkin while I was waiting. The staff was inconsiderate. No hotel has ever made wait this long. I spent my whole day just waiting for a room. This is ridiculous. They kept giving rooms to other people. I only spent the night here and went somewhere more accommodating and friendly.
"good hotel could be better"
We stayed in this hotel during this summer although had requested connected rooms but we did not get and the room size was good comparing to London sizes although we had no view at all. The bathroom was spacious although the shower system was quite complicating and the WC was weird as you flush it the water would all splash out which seriously has to be looked into by the management. The lounge had a the best attendant who was Spanish in origin and sadly I forgot her name , she was the sweetest girl ever and always ready to help and serve in the kindest manner. However the breakfast was extremely disappointing literally there was no choice only basic fruits and one type of cereal with butter and jam. This is not what I expect from Sheraton standard. The best thing the hotel had was a roaming mobile for guests to use which was a wonderful surprise honestly. Also the guest manager was very kind . only thing there was no proper link from the booking online with the front desk staff upon check in and check out as it took quite long for the front desk staff to check the type of rate I had chosen also I did not receive my points once I checked my account
