"Overpriced and old. Loud music means no sleep! "
After a long day of sightseeing in the hot Delhi sun, you just want to have a warm shower, relax and go to bed. I wanted to like this hotel. I ignored the dated looking wood and stained marble in the bathroom. I ignored the slow bathtub drain and the sticker on the bathtub window. But most people book a hotel because they just want to sleep at night. And the loud music pulsating from the pool for over three hours at bedtime was something I couldn't ignore. Repeated calls to the duty manager, led to 1. Assurances that the party would go on "only till midnight" (not true. It went on till well after that) 2. Promises to reduce the volume (it got louder) 3. An offer of two separate, cheaper rooms on another floor where they promised there wouldn't be noise (this offer came at 11:10pm which I refused. Why do I need to move my family to separate downgraded rooms for the sake of 50 minutes, especially since I had been complaining for over two hours') Just search for the word "noise" in the reviews here and you will find empty promises to "look into it". The reality is that the pool space is an additional revenue stream and The Park Hotel is hoping that customers who paid above average prices will shut up. Those who don't will be bought off with a room change or an upgrade. I booked the "Presidential Suite" and couldn't be bought off. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. The Radisson or the Vivanta perhaps. Why pay above average at The Park and then wonder if you'll sleep that night' Disgusting.
Nice hotel, but as everything is white everything seems a bit dirty. My room was a bit small. Plenty of food, perfect dinner and breakfast buffet! Staff ok, helpful. Location good, prices acceptable for this category of hotel.
"Excitingly Unique!! Vibrant and classy!!"
From the airport pick up to the drop off, the encounters with the wonderful people of this hotel left me glowing on my flight out of Delhi. The truth is I am captivated by The Park in New Delhi. The hotel itself is an unfolding terrain of delightful discoveries....the lobby, the coffee shop, the night club, the poolside"Aqua", the wheat grass in the room( I daresay I was tempted to snip off some to chomp down every morning), the art, the design... I could go on and on. On enquiring how they managed to maintain the freshness of the wheat grass in the rooms, the head of the housekeeping department Vinita offered to show me their own herb and vegetable terrace garden. From Nasturtium to broccoli to lettuce to sweet basil, they had it all!!!! Talk about going green to this extent, delightful!! No wonder the food was also what I'd go there again for...finger licking good and a feast, not just for the eyes. A chance encounter with the head honcho Rohit Arora helped me understand where the wonderful attitude of The Park people was coming from. Kudos to this hotel and its people. The location couldn't ever get any better. As a very frequent traveler and patron of 5 star hotels I'd unhesitatingly rate this as a luxury plus plus hotel. Real value for money. Thanks guys I'm not going anywhere else when in Delhi, good luck!
