"Very Luxurious and Romantic Villa"
We stayed at the Penthouse Villa for 2 days. The villa is very huge with a private pool. Staffs are very nice and responsive, they are also very knowledgeable in terms of attractions/restaurant/supermarkets nearby or activities. We were looking to rent a scooter but there's no such shop nearby. The hotel staff helps us to arranged one and get it delivered to the Lobby so we don't have to take a cab to rent the bike. Our departure flight is at 3am.. and the staff kindly arranged us a room to take a shower before we go. We also went to the 360 degree bar, which provides a nice view of the sunset. It's a pity that part of the sunset view is blocked by trees. The Spa is very expensive comparing to those hotels in Karon/Patong. However, the treatment was definitely one of the best we have ever had in Thailand. Most important of all they provide all sorts of romantic experience in your own villa. You can have BBQ inside your villa, dinner by the pool, spa inside your room etc. Definitely a place tot be if you are looking for romantic getaway. One thing to note is Cheong Thale is quite far away from those tourist area: Patong/Karon/Kata/Phuket town (at least an hour drive), so it could be hard if you want to visit those places when you are staying in the villa.
"The Pavillions Phuket"
I doubt that I have enough superlatives to describe the Pavillions. From the pick up at the airport by the ever smiling Noom, to our drop off seven days later, everything was superb. We had a penthouse pool and spa room, and the build quality, from the marble and slate wall and floor covering, sanitary ware and ambient lighting, made for a really relaxing stay. Upstairs we had a large bedroom, walk in dressing room and free standing bath, separate shower and one outside for good measure! Again, everything was built to the same exacting specification. Outside we had a plunge pool and sala, complete with downlighting and ceiling fan. It is worth noting that none of the properties are overlooked; once you enter your 'courtyard' you are completely private. Emphasis is on letting you do as little as you would like; so don't expect lively bars. We went B&B and the breakfasts were excellent; traditional Thai or a la carte, complete with Champange (the real stuff!). The manager or duty manager was in the restaurant every morning and took the time to ask each table how their holiday was going - a nice touch. The staff followed this lead - nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with that winning Thai smile. It really is a wonderful place just minutes from Layan beach (with a free shuttle laid on, including beach bag and towels). A 10 minute taxi ride (350 - 400 TBH) will get you to Boat Avenue, where you will be spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink (and there is a supermarket). In summary; fabulous hotel, fabulous people, fabulous food, fabulous location, a fabulous experience. We are already saving to go back in 2017!!
Awesome lunch, chef really knows her stuff, from interesting salads to pasta to Bibimbap, and a good wine list as well. Up top you have 360 bar good cocktails, snacks and drinks. The view is breath taking one of the nicest in Phuket, a must at least once during your stay.
We chose The Pavilions to stay over Easter due to all the great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed . We were picked up by their car (900 THB) and driven to the resort within 25 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted by name by all the staff ( big tick) and even the General Manager greeted us. We were then taken to our Ocean View Pool Villa via golf cart. The villa has a small pond at the entrance with fish which was a nice touch. Our bed had petals on it in the shape of a heart, another nice touch. The Villa is separated into 3 areas ; Living area with small kitchenette , huge and comfy daybed type sofa for relaxing , bathroom with decent size bath and good sized bedroom that opens out to the pool. Outside is day bed in a pergola with fan ( very relaxing ). We had drinks two nights at the 360 degree bar . If you head up at sunset make sure you book to get a good spot. Cocktails were nice and cheap $350 THB. Only gripe was that my wife ordered a glass of red wine and it was the smallest pour I have ever seen. I did question it but was told they use a measure'' Funny thing was , later a European guy came to the bar who had links to the resort and ordered a glass of red and got a HUGE glass with a very generous pour. We had dinner at Plantations and food was average and red wine was ridiculously expensive. This is mostly due to the fact that the tax on wine in Thailand is massive. Breakfast each morning was at the Plantation restaurant and was fantastic . There is a fairly limited buffet but you can order off the menu and get eggs benedict, waffles , pancakes etc al freshly cooked. We had a Seafood BBQ cooked for us on Good Friday and it was ok and cost around $5000 THB. The resort has a shuttle that takes you to nearby Layan beach which was actually a very nice and reasonably quiet beach. Overall, if you are looking for a romantic holiday and you want privacy look no further than The Pavilions .Service was great and Villa was beautiful although the Ocean "view" is a long way away Only negative would be its a tad isolated if you want to explore elsewhere.
