"Updated In-Room Dining Menu, Our Favorite Room"
After a dozen stays in the last two years, I was glad to see the in-room dining menu had a few new items, as my husband and I have most of our meals as room service. I did, however, miss the usual amuse bouche which used to come with every evening meal. We've stayed in a number of room types, including a villa, but our favorite is the lower level rooms with small private patios.
"Best Hotel in Los Angeles'"
The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills is a very good hotel, The rooms are vast and the ambience of the hotel is very luxurious. The hotel is within walking distance of Rodeo Drive and all of the luxury brand shops. Unfortunately one of our party was allocated a villa unit, which would have been most welcome. Except, it was raining heavily in Los Angeles. Every visit to the main hotel involved a quick walk in the rain. Even when the luggage was collected for the departure, the luggage was not covered from the elements. The main restaurant is good but not in the big league of other hotels.
I have stayed at The Peninsula Beverly Hills for many years. The staff of this fabulous hotel makes a point to give me the best service one could ask for. Gary Thomson always greets me like an old friend. We talk about what's happening in sports being from Boston. It means a lot. Jim Assi always greets me with a smile. I look forward to seeing these guys while in town. Along with the great restaurants, the Blueberry Pancakes are simply the best! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys living well!!
"It's the Staff that Make this Hotel "
Living in Beverly Hills is what made me first aware of this hotel. Naturally, I only experienced the grand dinners, holiday events, and Sunday buffets, I never stayed at the hotel itself. Every time an out of town guest comes to visit, I take them here. My husband isn't from the area so this time, we decided to spend the night for the first time instead of just dining and playing here. Although they have renovated parts of the restaurant, there is a slight faded luxury to the hotel sleeping quarters itself, I'm afraid with the new Waldorf across the street, they may feel the pressure to renovate. Because the hotel is so peaceful and serene, I can't imagine how they would accomplish a renovation without disrupting the ambiance. It's the staff however, that make this hotel the finest in the world. Everyone from the housekeeping to the impeccable valet - are perfect. They are humble, hard working, polite, gracious, and welcoming. The monogrammed pillowcases and fruit plate was an unexpected gift, a Pen-moment. Who works out in the fitness center with marble surrounding them with a view of century city' You will! We didn't leave the hotel grounds except for my Dr. Appt, which, the Rolls Royce took us to. Just to be sure, he waited outside the Dr.'s office even though I miscommunicated the time. He was so gracious and waited for me. It was hard to leave our room, so we didn't for two days. Except to workout. We ordered in from the 15 page endless room service menu. We went to bed early on the luxuriously soft bed, as requested. We woke up to a traditional Japanese breakfast. The spa and pool were on the same floor so it was easy to sneak in a workout or a tea in a cabana around the pool. They listened to everything our heart could have desired and made this stay-cation here so wonderful. Yes, the Waldorf is across the street, and opening in June. My husband and I are Waldorf fans but it's more "hotel-ly" with strict check in and out times, and it misses the intimacy that you can only find at the Penninsula since the Waldorf is owned by the Hilton. Strangely, if I had to choose, I'd come back and stay here because privacy, respect, and quality of service will always outclass the shiny and new. This is how they will gain the competitive advantage. We will be back - and my husband and I discussed coming here at least quarterly and elevated it from a want, to a need. Thank you for taking care of us. I feel like a better person after this stay.
"Xmas decor and so much more"
Fabulous. Need I say more' The front entrance and lobby Xmas decor was near perfect and gave a wonderful ambiance. The Rolls Royce and Bentley to cruise Rodeo Drive with a personal chauffeur set the tone in this place. We went here for the rooftop pool, afternoon tea, and the live piano music. The service was top-notch and young ladies always smiled while being very attentive to us. A definitive stay if staying near the Westwood or Beverly Hills area. Prefer the Villa King Room with bed and breakfast service.
