"Perfect in every way. "
This hotel is exceptional. Our room was very high tech, but easy to use. Excellent design and perfectly thoughtful. Mobile phone cords in the nightstand. Electronic pads on both sides of the king board as well as on the desk which controlled lighting, temperature, etc. Room safe in a confident drawer, not inaccessible in a closet. Entire team was very friendly. Large staff was always available. Total perfection on the Peninsula tradition.
Absolute incompetence at check in. Took half an hour to explain what was already confirmed. lighting and control via ipad is OK gut ipad light when not in use is disruptive. the entrance lobby has a horrible and continuous odor of fish or steak. I cannot be escaped when entering the hotel. Service is spotty, inadequate supplies and towels. Hotel has gone down hill. not worth the price.
"Very nice, but not my favorite luxury hotel in Chicago"
The hotel was very nice- impressive public spaces and very nice rooms. However, having stayed at Langham multiple times, I would rate the Peninsula as a clear second. The one area where they came out ahead was in-room dining; their breakfast, though pricey, was excellent.
The hotel is as expected in terms of facilities and the gym and pool are actually very nice. The room was comfortable and the location is great. As to service they are certainly trying but when it gets busy it is not that efficient and also the concierge was not amazing in terms of thinking a little more about what to suggest.
"Everything you could want and more!"
The Peninsula Hotel was an amazing place to stay! The staff was extremely attentive and courteous, always watching out for guests and greeting them upon entry or exit of the hotel. We booked an Executive Suite and was upgraded at time of check-in to a Junior Suite. The room was unbelievable, spacious and luxurious with nice touches of technology everywhere. The room was always stocked with ice which made the mini bar a must try! The attention to detail in room service was outstanding. They would wrap up your phone cords to make it neat and tidy when you returned to the room. They would also organize the bathroom items to make everything neat and clean. The televisions in the room were absolutely huge and the sound bars were a nice touch. Saturday morning we hit up the concierge to book a brunch spot. He was able to get us into the Beacon Tavern which had an amazing breakfast menu. We were offered mimosas on the house since we were staying at the Peninsula. The on-premise breakfast place for the hotel was very good as well. We tried it on Sunday morning before our departure. Of course we needed to take advantage of the Spa. I booked a 90 minute couples massage and it was by far the best massage I have ever had! Thanks Evelyn! Every tranquil and relaxing environment! Great amenities! Everything about the Peninsula was above and beyond my expectations. I would not hesitate to book with them again the next time I am in town! Thanks for everything!
