"Great place to stay"
The Peninsula is a great place to stay when in Chicago for a shopping trip. It has a great location on Michigan Ave, easy to walk anywhere. The room was also surprisingly very quiet since the hotel was full. The staff was great, the food was awesome and I can't wait to go back again.
Stayed 2 nights in the Peninsula Chicago Suite during Easter. The hotel location is very central & convenient. Everything was perfect as expected of the Pen. Service & food quality were amazing ! And the doorman is such a delightful little guy. He is of small build but is always very cheerful & enthusiastic to open the heavy doors for every patron who walk in. The Lobby restaurant is also amazing & the food is very fresh & delicious. Staying in the Peninsula is travelling in style.
"Did not miss a beat"
Checked in and online reservation was not right. Did not miss a beat-just fixed it and checked me in efficiently. Nice room with thoughtful touches (easy to use technology, fabulous black out curtains ( they actually deigned with 6" overlap so no seam of light blinds you in am), great built ins nclude packing station and drawer by bedside to charge devices), tv in bathroom. Great location and staff. Room immaculately clean and lovely super comfy bed.
"Excellent stay in Chicago"
Three night stay for business, dental conference first week of Dec. each year. I try to stay in a different hotel in Chicago each trip, the Peninsula is by far the best. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, right up there with Villa La Massa in Florence & the Lodge in Sea Island, Ga. Convenient location, helpful, but unobtrusive staff. Stayed in a Deluxe ( Grand' ) room, perfect for 1 person. Room was ready for a 10 am check-in as they had inquired ahead about my arrival. Decent sized room with a sofa & desk area as well as a dressing area. Smartly decorated with a view of Michigan Ave & the hotel's skating rink. Great bathroom with TV, excellent water pressure. Complimentary coffee & espresso maker & newspapers, huge TV ( 60 in' ). Entire show was controlled by iPads. lighting, temperature, audio / video, concierge, etc. Efficient & anything addressed thru this system was promptly addressed. Bed & pillows were super comfortable. Can't exactly explain why, but the housekeeping service was superb, covering unfinished glasses of water, leaving truffles, etc. Any city can have sounds like ambulances, but as far as intra hotel noise goes, this was good, much better than most high end hotels ( especially Mandarin Oriental, Boston ). I think value for stay was excellent. $525 Wed, $500 Thurs, 3rd night free, so $1025 for 3 nights. Will be my go to hotel in Chicago from now on.
"Loved the Bar!"
We used to enjoy the Four Seasons Bar, but after the remodel it never felt the same. I stopped in for a drink at the Peninsula and was blown away by the quality of the food and the level of service at the Bar. I was immediately greeted and offered reading material. I enjoyed some of the outstanding Dim Sum from their Shanghai Terrace restaurant. The decor is classic and the bar comfortable. Five stars all around!
