" Consistently best service + beautiful rooms"
For the past four years, the service at this hotel has been consistently the best. The employees here are very friendly and kind. They have never failed me. After the hotel joined the Marriott rewards, it has upgraded my room to a beautiful suit each time I visited the hotel (I am a platinum member), which doesn't happen much in hotels located in busy, metropolitan cities. If you are a Marriott member, do try out this hotel. In addition to their superb service, I like plaza's cute decorations + city view.
"best hotel I ever stayed in so far!"
You cannot ignore the high-technology nuance in every corner of the room --even the bathroom! I love everything about this hotel and the crews. Its location enabled me to visit any attractive destination by walking only. I just need to cross one road to reach Deoksugung Palace and cross another road to get to Seoul City Hall. Sometimes I do not need to cross the road at all because the hotel has underground tunnel connected to other places! I need to walk a little further to get Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namdaemun gate, Changgyecheon stream, but it did not matter at all because they are actually not that far from the hotel. I did not need to take taxi or bus to get to Insadong, Myeongdong, Namdaemun markets to buy some souvenirs. One of its crew helped me to track my lost wallet in a taxi and one day their room service provide me an additional praying mat for my roommate after they noticed every morning we always put a praying mat in the floor --but note this: I did not even ask them for it! Great service, no doubt of it.
"Disappointed this time...."
Sorry dear Plaza crew! Maybe I've been spoiled here in the past but this time, besides the great staff I am very disappointed . First of all the standard rooms are soooo full stuffed with stuff that there is hardly space to unpack your suitcase. Tiny little bathroom and a dark dark entrance area where you have to put your suitcase on the floor to unpack.... Easy to forget things with all that black. What disappointed me most however this time, they don't have hypoallergenic bedding. As I'm not good with down blankets due to my allergy, I requested for hypoallergenic bedcover and pillows. What they brought was a shabby fleece blanket and a pillow feels like a stone.... Hey come on people.... Not in a hotel of this standard. I know you can do better.... So this time really split feelings. Staff as always great. Breakfast too, very good but the sleeping quality... a no go, especially not for a hotel in this category ..... I know you can do better.
"Centrally located Luxury at its best"
Luxury spacious room with comfortable baby soft bed, multiple TV channels, high-tech WC, white clean toilet, rain shower, Hermes toiletries, awesome service, friendly staffs, personalised stay, centrally located & connected to City Hall Metro Station. Best experience in Seoul so far.
"Excellent Hotel in a Great Location "
Just checked in today, staying two nights and already I've decided that the next time I'm in Seoul, I'll be staying at the Plaza. I took the KAL Limo from the airport to the hotel which was great-super easy to buy tickets and the hotel was the second stop, dropping off at the back of the hotel. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and escorted to the lounge level for check-in. Check-in was fast, friendly and even though it was 11am I was able to check-in and get a room. Folks in the lounge were helpful and were able to help me find a couple places (and make an appointment) for a beauty appointment, and they provided great directions. There's an underground shopping center which connects the back of the hotel to other hotels, the Lotte, etc. which was great with nicely labeled exits. I was able to stay mostly inside while venturing around and shopping. The room was nice-I was upgraded and the room has a nice couch, bathroom with a tub and is very modern. Nice view of the downtown. Couple small downsides, one that the rooms aren't very bright in the evening, with limited overhead lighting and two, that the outlets and lights and furnace/AC turn off when you leave the room-since it's pretty cold outside when I return back to my room it's cold again and needs a few minutes to heat up. Snacks in the lounge were nice, and when I arrived at the hotel I had a fruit plate waiting in the room with cookies and wine. I was told that breakfast is served in the lounge only-at most other Marriott hotels I've been able to eat in the restaurant as a I'm a platinum premier, but oh well. Looking forward to checking out the gym tomorrow and another evening in the hotel before heading back to the US.
