"Luxurious but not quite the Ritz or Four Seasons"
Stayed here for 4 nights on the 6th floor LOCATION ✔️Right in the heart of Seoul, across from City Hall ✔️Subway station: City Hall, Line 2 (Green) and Line 1 (blue). Above ground exit #6 or follow underground signs. You don't even have to go above ground. It connects to the hotel's LL. ✔️Underground: You can connect all the way to Myeondong. ✔️Nearby attractions : Deoksugung Palace, Seoul Plaza, Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul Museum of History, Namdaemun market. RECEPTION ✔️There is one thing the hotel did, that is more luxurious than most luxury brand hotels.....the aromatherapy fragrance in the lobby. It smells wonderful the moment you step onto the lobby. ✔️Front-desk staff are professional & not snobbishly off-putting ROOM We got upgraded to a premier room that feels like a mini-suite. Welcome fruits: None. Minibar: complimentary mineral water, tea-bags & instant coffee. No coffee machine in room. The kettle is a bit of a bummer. Looks like a 3-star hotel kettle. TV: good size screen. English channels confined to CNN, BBC and AXN. I don't watch TV. Wardrobe : decent space, with combination lock Slippers : Provided Housekeeping : Good Wifi: Free BATHROOM ▪️Small & cramped for a luxury hotel. Homogenous tiles instead of marble makes the bathroom a little cheap. ▪️There is a shower stall & a bathtub. The built-in rainforest shower is a nice touch. ▪️Toiletries: Molten Brown Bath Gel, Shampoo, Body moisturiser. Hey, what happened to the HAIR-CONDITIONER '' Caveat: The hotel charges you for toothbrush, Razor, tooth floss....on the pretext of not wanting to use disposables! Other standard toiletries like cotton buds, emery boards are provided. ▪️Bidet is the best! Love it! ▪️Hairdryer: 1500 watts. I expected a luxury hotel brand to be at least 2000 watts ▪️Towels : normal, not v luxurious. The hotel has a green policy. It is good. BREAKFAST An awesome spread of both western & Asian cuisine on the 2nd floor. Pricey for KRW50,000 won. Try to get a package deal. After 4 breakfasts, it gets boring. The fresh vegetable juice is Super. GYM & POOL It is linked to the Grand Ballroom and uses the Plaza Fitness Club which is a private gym facility. You only need to bring your shoes (for exercise) and your swimsuit/googles (they will lend u the Swimming cap) The indoor heated Swimming pool is good size for lap-Swimming. There is sauna & full fledge gym facility. Super awesome. CONCLUSION The highlight of my stay here are: 1. The nice-smelling lobby 2. Awesome breakfast 3. Excellent Swimming pool 4. Excellent location, especially when the weather is cold
We loved the view from our room, which overlooked the City Hall and the in the distance was the Blue House and mountains beyond. To the left was a palace with trees in fall colours. There was a Kimchi Festival going on in the plaza below, and that was fun to watch. We were entitled to an upgrade, but we didn't like the view of the suite, so we settled for the deluxe room which was rather cramped, with a narrow and dimly lit entrance. It had a kinky feel with its red lampshades. But we got used to it. The bathroom was fine, with a great rain shower, and we had no complaints. The staff was very patient and helpful as we took some time to select our room. The club lounge had longer hours in the evening, and a great view from the 18th floor. Excellent service, staff and experience.
"Great hotel, great service"
This is certainly the place to stay if you are wanting to travel in style. I paid just under $200USD a night for a suite which had a big closet, a TV room, a bedroom and a big bathroom. it is in a great location near some of Seoul's biggest attractions and it is only a few subway stops away from the Seoul Station. All of the hotel's staff speak English and they are extremely helpful. For those who care, the complimentary soaps/shampoo are animal cruelty free. My only two complaints are small. First, They fill the mini-fridge in your room with drinks and candy items you can "purchase" by drinking/eating them. This renders the mini-fridge useless. Secondly, the phone by the bed has a touchscreen that is bright. Perhaps there is a simple way to turn off the screen and I just missed it but it created a lot of light when I went to sleep.
"Great experience of Seoul"
The staff was very friendly and very put together. We had no idea how great of a location this hotel was located at - there is even a underground shopping district that acts as a thoroughfare. Everything that we wanted to see was either a walk a way of a super short train distance a way. The room decor may be a bit avant-garde but it was modern and felt upscale. The heated toilet seats was a bliss especially during this cold month.
"Exploring Korean Schools"
Excellent hotel for the business traveller. Working breakfasts and seminar sessions are easy to organise and well catered for. Bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of gadgets. Prices at the bar are expensive.
