Situated in central Madrid, The Principal Madrid is very close to Puerta de Sol, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá.
The hotel is located on one of the city's most iconic streets, la Gran Vía; a lively street which has plenty to offer in terms of leisure, dining and shopping.
L'hôtel est tout nouveau, les chambres sont spacieuses. Le personnel est très attentif et très gentil. Le restaurant est excellent. En termes de position géographique, il est vraiment très central, au croisement des axes Gran Via et Paseo del Prado.Comment of B. Mohamed Karim , Morocco the 2015-02-18
Stayed here with two other couples recently and know we all felt the same after. Location, rooms, friendliness of the staff was absolutely awesome! Even with our very early departure time on day of leaving everything was organised and done to perfection. Will go back when next in Madrid for a longer stay as it's 5 STAR. Enjoy
"Beautiful Hotel near Gran Via"
Our first trip to Madrid was great due to this wonderful hotel choice. We were here for two days but would have been happy to stay longer. The staff was very welcoming and professional and the location could not be better. We were able to walk to many attractions and cafes located near the Gran Via. We chose to include the breakfast buffet with our reservation and were very pleased with the selection. An overall wonderful visit and we hope to return one day.
"Loved this hotel"
We stayed at the Principal this week based upon Trip Advisor reviews and it was fantastic. Perfect location...walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Very nice, modern rooms. Beautiful views from the rooftop. Helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone visiting Madrid!
"great service and very good location"
We spent 3 nights at the Principal in early April. It was more of a boutique hotel than I had expected, and our taxi driver had to double check the address to find it. Everyone on staff and in management were very friendly and helpful. It is very well located for museums, shopping, dining and the Retiro Park. Our room had a nice view, was very clean and well appointed but quite small. It's probably worth paying more for a larger room if one wants the full 5 star experience. The breakfast was excellent. The roof bar was not open in April, but the view was beautiful, especially at night.
Fantastic hotel on top location. Loved the building and I was surprised with the room! Huge living area overlooking the "Gran Via" with separate living / slaoon area from the main bedroom. Great range of amenities and details. The staff was superb, going the extra mile on giving tips, booking a table and makeing sure we had a good time. The breakfast is vast and served next to the bar on the 6th floor. Don't miss their "Atico" for some amazing views!
