"Comfortable room and friendly staff"
I had a brief one night stay. My single room was small, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful with directions and gave me a city map. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. I did not use the restaurant.
"Great stay at the The Redbury"
Super late with my review, but I had a great time at The Redbury in New York in October. The host, Chris, was soooooo nice and really made it a memorable anniversary trip for me and my boyfriend. The hotel was in a great location and walking distance from everything. It was also very cozy. Felt at home the whole stay. Cant wait to visit again! Thanks Chris!
"So much to love!!"
A friend and i stayed at the Redbury this weekend. This hotel was chosen at random on Priceline and the price really was incredible for Manhattan. From the check-in to the check out, our stay at the Redbury was perfect. We arrived at the hotel hours before check-in time. The very friendly desk personnel (apologies for not remembering names) assured us this was not a problem and they would let us check in then. Relief. It was freezing outside. The rooms were spotlessly clean and filled with all kinds of amenities. The rooms were small but i expect this in NYC. The best part was how soundproof they are. The blasting tv from the next room could be heard in the hallway but not at all in my room. The manager, Gillian Carroll, is quite an asset to this hotel group! (The small gesture of giving us a few breakfast items was huge in terms of customer service. ) Her enthusiasm for this hotel and its parent company is contagious! This says a lot about a business and this is reflected in the treatment of the guests. I would not hesitate to return to the Redbury and I highly recommend it to NYC visitors. My only suggestion would be to put some ice makers on the lower floors. Yes, that's it. My only suggestion for improvement. Oh, and maybe another trash can in the room.
"A nice hotel but..."
Pros: Good location and fair price ($149). This is a hip, artsy hotel that seems to appeal to young visitors. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Cons: Only one chair, a desk chair, in the room. Only one waste basket (in the bathroom) for the entire room. No coffee maker in the room (although complimentary a.m. coffee in the lobby). A little confusion when checking in. A nice hotel but not a value at more than $149.
"Would stay again but only for the location, not the service level"
A nice little hotel in a great central location. The rooms were small but nicely decorated and bed was comfortable. Odd little things marred it though, such as when I reported a woolly hat had gone missing from my room , the manager spoke with the laundry to see if it had got caught in the wash (at my suggestion), but after that was not bothered that it was missing and just said there was nothing she could do. Actually there was - you could have shown some empathy and customer care skills and resolved the issue instead of me feeling very disappointed and cross. Other odd thing was we commented to reception after the first night that the shower door seemed to be leaking and had literally flooded the bathroom. Instead of showing any concern or eagerness to resolve the issue, we were just told that 'the showers do that. we will give you some more towels to mop it up each day'. Most bizarre attitude!!! However it was clean, comfortable and did what we wanted it to
