"Excellent location, friendly staff and super comfortable bed!"
This was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! I absolutely loved the room, it was very comfortable and spacious, which is unusual in NYC, and also looked very stilish. It has a safe, a minibar, lots of plugs (also USB docks), a hairdrier which works really well, a tv and many modern accessories. It is also possible to order room service from the restaurant downstairs. The shower had hot water straight away and also looked great. It was very quiet at night and I was able to sleep really well, and it was also in an excellent location for the subway (less than a minute away to 28St stop) and for catching a taxi. The staff was also super nice, friendly and helpful! I had a great time at this hotel! I didn't give it a 5 stars rating because of the Wi-Fi: during the first two days of my stay it worked but only in the toilet and not in the actual room, then on the last day it improved but the signal was still weak and it would also stop working at random from time to time.
We stayed here last year on our visit to New York at that time it was the Martha Washington hotel and has since been taken over. There were a few minor updates to the hotel decoration wise and it felt far more trendy and boutique. The rooms were no different, the only difference for us was that last year we have a new r al size room and this year I think we got the cupboard!!! But although small and bijou it was clean and to be honest the great thing about this hotel is where it is, it's so ideally placed to visit everything and we literally just slept there and that was for only about 5 hours a night as there so much to do and see in New York. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We did mention that our remote for the TV wasn't working but that never got fixed, however when we had a power cut in our room, the staff were very quick to resolve this. Overall I would definitely stay at his hotel again, it's clean, the staff are friendly and it's in such a great position to visit everything. I'm just gutted that I've visited twice and still didn't find time to visit the restaurant which does look amazing.
"One of the best with a few minors"
First of all i have to give all thumbs up for the great service that the reservation specialist (Marisa) and concierge (Alexandra) have given me from the second that i contacted them when i first booked my stay at this hotel. Both of them were more than friendly and helpful and they gave me all the help and info that i needed. Regarding the hotel: i am giving it a four stars and not five because there are few minors that need to be fixed i believe in order to get 5 stars. Lets start from the good things. We had two different rooms reserved. One queen and one queen larger. Both rooms were good enough bad the standard one was quiet small but normal for nyc rooms. Either way go for the superior as the extra room does make the difference. The area is amazing, very close to everything and it has few amazing restaurants and bars very close. Wifi is free and the speed is very good so this is a plus as well. The rooms are clean and the noise from the street is not that bad if you get a room in high floor. The whole atmosphere is a lot like boutique hotel and the vibe is funky which makes it great. Staff are all very friendly and happy to assist you in any way. I would certainly stay there again. Now regarding the downs: 1. We got a room at the 12th floor which is the top floor . It was great but i believe that because if this the noise from the air condition was just horrible. I was waking at least 5-6 times evry night because of it noise every time that it was starting. This needs to be improved because i might be unbearable for someone who sleeps lightly. In lower floor the noise was not that bad 2. The rooms do not have two very important amenities. Sleepers and coffee machine. This is the first hotel that i visit which does not have sleepers. I believe tha this needs to change as it is not nice to walk on a carpet that you do not know how many years is there and who stepped on it before you. The coffee machine as well is a must i believe 3. The restaurant. I will write a different critic about it but seriously avoid it. Service really bad, attitude way different from the rest of the hotel, the smallest ever portions and a reservation service that is just bad. We were surprised that it was every day full and that was the reason that we went but regretted every second. Imagine that i had a burger afterwards from a local deli to cover my hunger. These are the bad and good of this hotel based on my experience. There is plenty of room for improvement but to be honest guys for the price that i got the room ( a little bit less that 200$ per day) in NY i am more than happy and i would recommend this hotel to everyone especially thanks to the people who operate it. Once more a special thank you to Alexandra and Marisa
"Excellent Hotel, Great Amenities and Service"
My partner and I visited this hotel for a city break for a week and we really enjoyed it. We used it very much as a base only but we could not fault it. The decor was very modern and the staff were very pleasant and happy to help. We could not beat this hotels location. It was off the main road so the sirens and incessant car horns were no problem but it was also equi-distant from all the main attractions - 9/11 memorial and Central Park. We did not use the mini bar in the room or the restaurant at the hotel as there was so much to choose from on 7th Avenue, we were spoiled for choice. We paid for a Queens upgrade and the bed was so comfortable. The room wasn't very big really but the bathroom had a double shower and was clearly still looking rather new. We could not fault housekeeping either. We fully recommend this hotel. Thank you
"Lovely, charming hotel with quiet room"
It's rare for New York City but our room was quiet and rather "spacious". Front desk staff and housekeeping were polite and always helpful when it came to any accomodations that we needed. I loved all the paintings in our room and hotel itself is beautiful and ecclectic. We definitely plan on going back and have no complaints. Walking distance to Grand Central Station and Times Square. It's across from a Bread & Butter restaurant that sells just about anything you need and has a 24 hour buffett.
