"COMFY AND MODERN HOTEL"
My stay in this modern and chic hotel was not bad.. Just avoid the cozy room. Extremely uncomfortable even if you are not claustrophobic. Managed to upgrade to a queen fortunately. Also no tea or coffee facility in the rooms which was a pity. Location is great with easy access to bus and subway. Could improve their concierge service. they were missing in action most of time and eventually made my own arrangements.
Nice hotel in great location. Easy access to subway and lots of restaurants in close proximity. Taxi's were easy to catch right off of Madison to head uptown. The rooms are small but it is NYC. We only needed it to shower and sleep so the size was not of concern. We set up the ironing board against the wall to give us more counter space. We landed a good deal on Hotwire so it was great for the price. Would suggest ear plugs for sleeping if A/C noise is a concern. The compressor definitely makes some odd sounds throughout the evening. The hotel staff were all wonderful especially Demetrius at the front desk! The restaurant connected to the hotel "Marta" has excellent Margarita pizza. Overall, would recommend this hotel mostly for it's location and friendly/helpful staff.
"Good location, modern hotel"
I've stayed here on two consecutive visits for a duration of almost a month now! The Pros - great location (28th street subway right on doorstep, walking distance to lots of attractions, penn station walkable), great choice of food around the hotel (lots of eateries scattered within 5 mins walking distance - bakeries, indian, Chinese, fast food, continental) Starbucks right outside too, great vibe in the hotel with buzzy music, busy atmosphere all around, great hotel staff from reception to room service to bellboys (very caring, prompt, try to help as much as they can), good room sizes for NYC standards and modern, chic decor. They have a small room converted into a gym but if you want a proper workout the hotel offers complimentary passes to a nearby gym outside. Also, free tea/ coffee service in bar in the mornings. The Cons - the overall smell (the hotel smells generally in all areas/ rooms as if it's not been aired in a long while or some lingering smells have overpowered the rest, the dark/ dim lighting doesn't help lift the spirits either!), poor standards of housekeeping (minimum effort which only a long stayer can feel as you observe a pattern over a month of beds not being turned down with fresh linen regularly, towels not being replaced, missing toiletries, poor room vacuum), general upkeep of rooms (my room during one of the stays had a hole in the ceiling, I could see pipes inside but no one had bothered to cover it!) All in all, I would definitely recommend the redbury - it's a young modernistic hotel, great location, great happy staff.
"Very Chique Hotel!!"
Only stayed here for one overnight on route to Cancun but our stay was amazing. The hotel is very stylish and the service was great. Perfectly situated for the Empire State Building and shops and is just off 5th Avenue. Thanks to the concierge service who organised our transport and book us our sightseeing activities. Perfect for exploring New York!!
"What a great weekend"
