Our stay in the Ritz Carlton hotel in Berlin was a wonderful experience from check in to departure. We booked a superior room which was a great size room & very comfortable. Decor & furnishings in our bedroom and throughout the hotel of an excellent standard. The staff in the hotel were most helpful, courteous and hospitable. Excellent experience. Service was great but we had a problem getting them to deliver coffee cartridges. We later found out they were out of them. After they received more, the service was great. Dieses Hotel ist Luxus PUR. Überall glitzert der Mamor, die Kronleuchter oder die mit gold verzierten Säulen. Sehr freundlicher Empfang und spitzen Service, gemäß dem Motto "der Kunde ist König". Ich hatte "nur" ein Standard Zimmer, was völlig ausreichend war. Die Zimmer sind gross und die Betten sehr bequem. Auch hier setzt sich der Luxus fort.Comment of D. Markus , Germany the 2013-06-25

"Fantastic cocktails, disappointing service"
I visited the Ritz-Carlton with 3 friends for afternoon cocktails on our city break. Though the cocktails were fantastic the service was not of the same standard. I had ordered the same cocktail twice and felt the second one did not taste the same as the first. Instead of following the old service rule of "the customer is always right" I was made feel very uncomfortable for asking for a new cocktail. I was made explain my point to the same waitress twice and the next waitress once before the cocktail was taken from the table. Then when I received the "new" cocktail, the waitress waited at my side as I tasted the cocktail and felt obliged to say it was fine. If I was their manager I would extremely disappointed. But I must say the other cocktails we tried were delicious.
Good hotel, good location, rooms are big and decorated more or less the sale way as other rooms in ritz around the world. Nothing bad to say about the service. I dont mind "friendly american" way of it, but some people can find it a bit over the top.
"Superior service, great property"
Everything was first class. Staff called us by name after first meeting and made sure everything was perfect. The housekeeping manager on our floor went out of her way to make sure everything was outstanding with our room. We will be back on our next visit to Berlin.
We had a business reason for travelling to Berlin and we decided to make it a luxurious stay. RC Berlin succeeded to fulfill our expectations. We will certainly come back as soon as we are in Berlin again.

Stayed here for 2 nights this week with my wife. Great location right on Potsdamer Platz, walking distance to anything you might want to do..I know because we walked it.. Bar in lobby was very buzzy and good..if expensive..staff are all OK..I hate to be picky but I did not think they were of the quality one normally gets at RC properties but thats subjective and based only on those I encountered eg concierge who was short and clipped rather than open and engaging and who when giving directions did not use maps or give any detailed advice which led on one occasion to us getting lost. Another occasion despite me asking repeatedly to ensure a taxi driver collecting us knew exactly where he was going as the location was notoriously not easy to find ..2 separate RC doormen did not listen to what I was saying ..again and again..and simply kept repeating the address to him (which I knew already..) rather than googling it or calling the restaurant for specific location details..ending up with myself and my wife getting very lost at the other end..taxi driver did not know where to go..we were late for our table and I had to go (in the rain) to the nearby Westin Grand to get details.. not good enough RC.. Also mini bar and toiletry replenishing had to be chased each day of out stay..requests for ice took a long time ,.. I also thought the rooms were starting to show signs of wear and tear..I have stayed here a few times before. My wife felt the beds were also uncomfortable.too soft..ie lack of support. And the final punch was when a taxi I specifically ordered in order to take a very early flight was not there and I had to wait for another one to arrive.. BUT and its a big but..otherwise the place is genuinely good. I just think if you are staying at a RC you have every reason to expect everything to be right.. and not just Marriott staff bussing between neighbouring sister hotels.. which is kind of how it felt.
