"Real Hidden Gem in Miami"
My wife and I decided to take a quick overnight to Miami to see a couple of sights and came across the Ritz - Coconut Grove as a "nearby hotel" - it was great. Very out of the way as far as being in the "thick of the action." We arrived fairly late. When we were checking in, the agent at reception couldn't locate a rom with a king bed so upgraded us to a suite - great customer service. We then one to the bar for drinks and barfood - the bartender Hassan was the best! Breakfast the next morning also terrific. Only regret was not staying another night. Will definitely stay here every time I'm in Miami
"A jewel in the grove"
Friendly and attentive staff - make this well situated hotel a great place to stay if you don't want or need to be on the beach. Excellent fitness facility and pool area. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Easy access to Miami and South beach. Tesa, one of the front desk managers was extremely professional and helpful through out our stay.
No service in some areas. Felt like we couldn't enjoy the hotel's amenities. That made it feel very unwelcoming! I will not stay at this hotel again if I can help it. Have stayed in many Ritz Carlton hotels and I was disappointed in this one.
"Ritz at Coconut Grove"
We had a quick holiday trip down to Miami and chose the Coconut Grove Ritz Carlton. Overall, the experience was very pleasant with a few challenges- the spa treatment was fantastic but we were definitely shorted on time. Also, the pool has two high rise building under construction so there was constant noise- that will be much less a problem than the blocked sun when they are built. Rooms were nice but the property is a bit dated. It needs a remodel. Service is what you expect- excellent overall.
"GREAT staff, incredibly friendly and service oriented. Walking distance to restaurants/shops."
Hotel has great location in Coconut Grove (note: this is not a beach or waterfront property.) Staff is terrific, they are friendly and incredibly accommodating, making sure your every need is met, from the front desk, pool area to even housekeeping. As for the pool area, there are few seating areas that offer full sun throughout the day, and the seasoned travelers (or residents of the condos) quickly take up the best seats in the house. So if you want to enjoy a full day of sunshine by the pool you better arrive early to reserve your lounge chair. Also, there are two towers that are currently being built next door, this will have a huge effect on sunshine time poolside. So if you are a sun worshiper you might need to go elsewhere. Poolside staff terrific, very friendly and pampering. Although Spa staff super friendly, good and welcoming, the services are overpriced and you will be shortchanged on your time. We realized after that there was no way we got what we paid for. So either keep tabs on the time paid for your services or save your $ for something more worth while.... Location is great for a run, bike, walk near the marina; shops and restaurants and Vizcaya also nearby. Hotel decor will need updating at some point soon, it is stuck in the 1990s and some upholstery looks tired. But if you are looking for an escape in good location with excellent staff, this is the place to go.
