The staff at the Ritz Carlton were fantastic, very professional, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble plus everyone had a smile on their face and several staff said it was a great place to work with a lot of pride. My only problem was the staff kept telling my wife ideas for shopping (lol) I would definitely stay at the Ritz again.Comment of N. Alan , Australia the 2015-09-24
Really enjoyed my stay. Had a slight hiccup on registration but the staff went above and beyond to resolve the issue and make sure we had a great experience there.Comment of P. Shahzeb , Australia the 2015-09-14

"Excellent hotel, fanastic location and amazing staff!!"
I was delighted with the hotel even prior to my arrival! Guest Servies (Siew Yin) reached out to check arrival time and airport transfer options. She also very kindly upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite as we were celebrating my birthday. Upon arrival, we were delighted with the space - there's master ensuite bedroom with dressing room; the second bedroom and bathroom; a study; lounge/dining area/kitchen and 2 further restrooms!! We felt incredibly at home and received many fresh fruit bowls and chocolates. The suite was very tastefully done up. The only negatives were that some of the finishings weren't great and whilst the interior had a recent refurb the actual building is old so the windows are thin and don't shut fully which thus allows some noise and humidity in. Aside from that we had a fantastic stay - they were kind enough to leave me a birthday cake and lots of decorations and balloons which were a fantastic surprised to come home to! Special thanks again to Siew Yin and Malcom. It really is the staff that make this hotel - they are a huge credit and whilst there were some who particularly stood out due to the interaction we had with them, I found everyone that we encountered to be super polite and helpful. One of our highlights was being able to use the lounge and we were incredibly well looked after by Nay Tun and Perfecto. They were so welcoming and hospitable - they brought freshly cooked food to the table, a sample of desserts; made several different cocktails for us and thoroughly spoilt us for the time that we spent there. It was the perfect introduction to the hotel and I hope that everyone gets to experience their hospitality. Another area of the hotel that we used frequently was the concierge desk. Segar and his team are outstanding - he was always around in the lobby so it was great to discuss his recommendations after we returned. Additionally, he went above and beyond, helping us arrange a trip to Malacca and also gave us his mobile number so that we could contact him directly if we faced any issues. We felt incredibly looked after. Finally the last special mention goes to Rina, the lovely lady at the reception for the spa - she made sure that we had everything we needed. It was also very useful to be able to have that space on our last day when we had checked out but had a later flight. On a more practical note - the breakfast buffet was great with lots of options across many cuisines and a great way to start the day. The hotel is also very centrally located - its connected to the Star Galleries and you can walk through that and the JW Mariott to the Pavillion mall which is great and has a great selection of shops and restaurants We had the most fantastic stay - its a beautiful hotel but the staff are what really made it for us. I hope to return soon!!
"Full of surprise "
The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur is always my first choice to stay when ever I'm in Kuala Lumpur . Strategic location specially for single traveler like me, very convenient access to every where. Hotel are just newly renovated and all the staff are very friendly always feel like home. The most amazing part is I'm alone have my time at lobby lounge, the staff at lobby lounge surprise me when my birthday. Is really amazing well done and first class to the lobby lounge team.
"Best I've ever tried"
The 3bedroom suite was awesome. Huge, clean and with a butler... WTF!! So cool. Myself and all my friends that stayed at the hotel were impressed. Location was good, service was great and A BUTLER haha
100% Perfection - amazing and magical. Wonderful experience. The staff could not of done anything more to make our stay any better . Was made to feel like royalty even if it was only for three days!!!!
"Very disappointing. Not recommended"
For me, the Ritz Carlton is one of those 5-star hotels that is operating on a warehouse scale and to some extent trading on their name rather than reality. It's location is okay, not amazing but pretty convenient for the big shopping venues. We are not the kind of people who always stay in suites but in the past we've had suites for special occasions notably at the Savoy and Mandarin Oriental in London. Those experiences led us to expect a high level of quality and service above what we'd expect from booking a standard room. We had booked a 2 bedroom suite so had high expectations. I know hotels such as The Ritz Carlton in KL have hundreds of rooms so you have to be realistic about service levels but even taking that into account this hotel fell far short of expectations. On arrival, I've had warmer welcomes at the Travelodge. The woman who checked us in was totally disinterested and bored, there was no quality of welcome at all. The butler service is just a myth. The truth can be read on the phone's in the rooms. There's no button for reception. Instead of calling reception you call the butler which is just a call centre and redirects your call to other services in the hotel - it is just marketing spin. At the Savoy in London we got a butler - it wasn't a call centre it was an actual person who came and introduced himself and explained his services and frequently checked in to see what he could do for us. Not the case here. The room was in dire need of renovation. None of the drawers fitted properly on their runners, everything was patched up and hanging together with filler. The sink was broken (plug stuck in) and housekeeping didn't even bother to report it. A wardrobe door feel off, a light switch collapsed when touched and the quality of the housekeeping service was rubbish. My teenage daughter does a better job and trust me - she's not a neat freak. When reported, maintenance were called and did get the main issues fixed but there was no care there. The staff were just going through the motions. The food was fine. We had breakfast, afternoon tea and Sunday Roast. Breakfast was very canteen like. Sunday Roast was weird - there was some great food there but some very odd combinations and the whole serving style was kind of odd. E.g. a carving service for roast meats but the meat was hidden (to keep it warm as they didn't have a proper carvery servery) so you couldn't see the options and there were none of the usual options alongside. There were more deserts than anything. All just a bit wrong. Afternoon tea was the best food we had but that was a very average afternoon tea, if Fortnum and Mason's is 10 out of 10 the Ritz Carlton was a 5. However, they were quick to serve and it was tasty. Just not enough food, no where near enough cream and jam for the number of scones and again some odd choices of content. All in all were I to return to KL I would make a point of NOT staying at the Ritz Carlton.
