"Doing the best possible"
I love all Ritz-Carlton hotels in which I have stayed, including this one. I would not have chosen this one if it had not been part of a package, only because it is not centrally located within Manhattan. It was lovely, as are all. However, if you like the luxurious soft towels and sumptuous linens, give this one a couple of years. It seems ready for some updates. It is beautifully appointed and the staff is amazing, but loud toilets and awkward internet make this one just off the usual highest marks for R-C.
"A must stay in NYC"
Loved the staff! Outstanding service , food, and location. The location is near Battery Park and easy walking to the metro. Highly recommend the Club lounge experience. The Ritz is located lower Manhattan so there is not much noise at night. Great night sleep!
"A wonderful oasis on the lower tip of Manhattan"
If you want top notch service in NYC, then this hotel is the place for you. Battery Park is very special; the World Trade Center, Jewish Museum, ferries to Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and Staten Island are all within steps of this spectacular hotel. And, the views of the harbor and Lady Liberty are unparalleled. I would go back in a second if I had the time.
"Great Engagement Surprise"
The staff helped ensure a very special and unique experience. I was nervous enough focusing on popping the question. They helped ensure a very romantic surprise back in the room. Thank god the answer was Yes! Only downside was the breakfast room service. Not worth the cost.
Our family of four visited NYC for the NYC half marathon that my husband was running. Service was incredible from greeting our kids with a visit to the treasure chest and welcome bags to a pre-race offering of motivational posters, snacks, and drinks in the lobby, followed up by an amazing customized bag of treats for us to take on our drive home! The service and staff were unbelievable, and we can't wait to come back. The room was big enough, not huge, but it's Manhattan so I don't expect a ton. Our room faced the Statue of Liberty, complete with a telescope perfectly positioned for a close up view. And the bellman was very patient with the kids constantly bumping it! You may think the Ritz Carlton is too pricey, but it's fairly reasonable for NYC prices-- comparable to the Marriott Marquis in price but way better in service. The location is a few minutes (maybe 3-5') to a subway station but there are a few lines to choose from you so can get to anywhere you need to go. Staten Island Ferry is also very close. There aren't a ton of restaurants to choose from very near to the hotel, but if you are willing to walk about 10 minutes or take a short cab, there are plenty of options. Battery Park was very nice. Location was perfect for race watching, not far from the finish line.
