"One of the world's perfect hotels"
The R-C Osaka is that rare gem frequent travelers hope for. Flawless service, magnificent ambience and every amenity one could hope for. The food in the restaurants was spectacular and impeccably presented. I recommend the R-C Osaka to those who seek perfection.
"The service was excellent, but I really expected more from the facilities of a Ritz-Carlton."
First of all I have to say one thing upfront. The service at the hotel is impeccable. All the staff were professional, knowledgeable and they really cared about helping you. They could not have been more helpful or have done their jobs any better. Some of the best service I have ever experienced anywhere. However, there were a couple of issues that stopped our visit from being excellent: 1) The decor and room facilities are out of date. I have chosen my words very carefully here as I do not mean that they are a bit old fashioned as the hotel is supposed to look like the inside of a French chateau or an English manor house, and it does. What I do mean is that the rooms need a 'face-lift' and the in room facilities have not been updated... old clunky TV's hidden in big wardrobes that swivel out, or the mass of cables by the writing desk for using your computer etc... These may seem trivial complaints until you put them in the context of the room rate and the hotel brand. I just didn't think that they were of a standard that I would expect from a RC hotel. 2) If you drink in either of the bars after 7pm there is a set charge of 1,500 yen per person essentially to sit in the bar, even before you have a drink. Now I may have misunderstood this and I am sure that there is a valid reason why they do this, but as a paying guest I don't expect to have to pay to use the hotel bar. What we ended up doing was going into one of the restaurants and just ordering drinks there. In fact it turned out better for us as both bars were not smoke free but the restaurants are. A couple of real standouts were: 1) We did eat at the Italian restaurant at the hotel and the food and service was impeccable. We were travelling with kids and the staff were very attentive and even helped them with their Japanese, which they were all trying out as this was their first couple of nights in Japan. 2) Similarly we took the kids to the pool and there we also were welcomed like family and looked after very well. The staff even took a picture of all of us and presented it to us with a little note as a memento of our visit. They could not have been more hospitable. Overall our stay was very enjoyable and if the two issues I have mentioned above don't bother you then I would not hesitate to recommend staying here. However, for myself, I will also look at other options next time I come to Osaka.
this hotel is one of my favorites as it is good at all the things. Room was great, Location of the hotel is good as many good areas are near to shop to eat etc. The Hospitality is very good and you should definitely try Italian restaurant.
"Fancy but no breakfast"
Obviously a very nice hotel, but breakfast is not included. For the price and level of hotel, some sort of free breakfast should be provided for all guests. At least the room came with free bottles of water...
"Maybe the Best Hotel in the World!!"
