"Can't be better....."
We celebrated our sons 40th birthday in Tokyo and had a booking of three rooms at the 49th floor! First day we had a snowstorm, but staying in the Hotel was very comfortable! Next day we saw the Fuji! The service from the staff is outstanding! The Club Service was fantastic! We had such a help to settle some bookings from Mr Valter Goncalves and he took so much care of all of us! A big Thank you! We come back!
"Beautiful rooms & views, conveniently located"
I recently stayed at the Ritz for 6 nights on business.PROS: -- The room was beautiful and well equipped with toiletries, tea, bottled water, etc. And the view of Mt. Fuji (on a clear day) was spectacular. -- The Roppongi location was very convenient and there is a subway stop in the next building which is very convenient. -- Sushi at the hotel's sushi bar was a highlight of the trip, although the prices are insanely high and that's saying a lot when you're on an expense account... -- The gym was also nice and I enjoyed the steam room and whirlpool area which also has had fantastic views. I believe this is an additional $50USD / day depending on your room rate/Marriott status. The main reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found the concierges a bit lacking in information (or perhaps things were lost in translation). We wanted to go to the market at Meiji Shrine and they emphasized that we MUST get there early because it opened at 4am and the shops closed by noon. We did get there early-ish 8 am), only to find that the shops didn't open until 10 am. We also tried getting restaurant recommendations from the concierges and didn't have much luck in that regard either. At a Ritz, my expectations would be for a concierge to be able to give accurate information and good recommendations.
"definition of excellence = The Ritz Carlton"
After a rough start, everything got into place and it got better and better. Communication is a must :-) The service is perfect, the food is very good. Although there are not enough options for vegeterians, the service provided by the staff is so good it compensate for that lack. Being a non meat eater, I am very picky when it comes to what goes into my body and the staff, the chef and everyone else working there was always making sure that the food met my expectations. The View at the lounge is spectacular and so relaxing!!! great stay , highly recommended. The Ritz is the Ritz, you can't top their top notch service :-)
"Style, Service and Spectacular Views (when the clouds lift...)!"
This was the first stop on our first visit to Japan. Checking in on the Club Floor after a twelve hour transpacific flight on JAL (an exceptional airline, but that's another story) was efficient and welcoming. The Hotel's aesthetic, while contemporary and incorporating all the modern conveniences, is also very much of its locale. Artwork, water features and floral displays make the public areas inviting. And the views from 40+ stories up are as impressive as you'd expect, when the clouds clear (which, sadly for us, was somewhat rare - but when they do... wow!). In opting for a Club Floor Room, the additional food & beverage amenities provided in the Lounge from morning to evening (refreshed & scheduled to day-part) were some of the finest and most extensive we've ever experienced. Our room (a "Deluxe") was spacious, comfortable and well laid-out. Top notch bedding, seating and lighting. And the bathroom, an unqualified happy-face from "the Missus" for the mirrors, counter space and illumination options (and yes, the commode is indeed a technological marvel). But what really makes this place special is the Staff! Far beyond simple courtesy (which, in itself, is sadly becoming a rarer commodity), the various people we interacted with really seemed to take pride in their work and be personally invested in providing exceptional service! To the men at the door (who never failed to inquire whether we needed directions/transport/umbrellas as we went out), to the Concierges (who provided us with insightful & practical guidance and well-recommended restaurant reservations) to the teams at the various Lounges and Desks (who invariably greeted us with smiles and seemed truly interested in our experiences and assisting us) - may we say "Domo Arigato Gozaimasu"! Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo was one of the best hotel experiences we've had to date! On returning to Tokyo, we'd absolutely look forward to staying here again.
