This hotel has everything - spacious villas with a private pool, excellent service, decent-sized pool and good location. Also plenty of water sports on the beach next to the hotel. Breakfast was good, but slightly lacking in choice - we stayed there for 5 nights and had eaten everything on the menu by day 4. A buffet with the a la carte would be better.
"Wonderful resort ❤. Loved it!"
We just got back from a week stay at the Royal Santrian in Nusa Dua, Bali. We loved our stay there and highly recommend it. The villa's are all beautiful (total 20, all 300m2), gorgeous big bathrooms and lovely extra outdoor shower, but the royal villa's (only 3) are the best with sea view and nice big pool (7x6 m) overlooking the beach and ocean. Service is great, people at the Royal Santrian go out of their way to make you happy and make your stay unforgettable. Especially Lisna, personal butler and Maja, restaurant manager really made it a special stay for us. They did everything they could to make as feel looked after and even VIP's. Food is fantastic and we recommend you do the cooking class which is a lot of fun and also nice to visit the local market as part of the cooking class. We also loved all the drinks, mocktails and snacks, it's truly a 5 star resort and actually higher if this were possible because in this relatively small resort everybody knows you and you really feel like a VIP, which is a very different experience from visiting a big 5* hotel. This is much better! You actually feel like you've made some new friends when you leave the resort. If you're thinking of booking, here's my advice; just book it, you won't be disappointed and if possible book one of the packages (we had the packages with 2 hour spa treatment, lunch and dinner included) with spa treatments included. We will return someday, hopefully soon because it's really a pleasure to stay at the Royal Santrian. Thanks you Royal Santrian for making our stay unforgettable ❤👍🏻👋🏼
"Feels like a prison!"
If what you mean by great staff people that supervise and control your every move, then this is the place. You cannot walk 10 inches without a staff popping up to ask what you want, where you are going, how you are and what you think of the hotel. They have about 5 managers who each one comes to introduce himself and then comes back every day to ask what you think of the hotel and if you'd care to review it on trip advisor. Forget having a romantic moment on the beach and by the pool as the staff will inevitably interrupt to ask if you want a towel or a coffee or announce that they have great boat trips. When you eat, you won't have time to maintain a conversation as 4 waiters constantly surround the table putting the napkin in your lap, pouring more water, replacing your fork, knife, spoon slowly and each at a time. You cannot even take a photo without a staff member rushing to ask if he can take the photo for you. When you leave the hotel, they ask: Where are you going' When will you be back' which I thought was extremely rude. If you tell them, they will start offering you car/bus rides or suggest where THEY think you should go, or tell you not to come back too late. I don't see why all members of staff should know where the guests are going at any time. If you don't answer, they will blurt out: "you look tired." They take good care to know all the names of all the guests which I suppose is meant to make you feel at home, but when 30 people shout your name every day it gets a bit intimidating. Say you move from one sunbed to another just to catch some temporary shade, two staff members will rush forth to guess what you are trying to do and assist you in moving all your belongings from one place to another, and when you try to explain that you don't need that, they don't understand as their English is very poor. I know all this is probably enforced by the management as "service mentality" but truth is, people go on vacation to do other things than look at hotel staff. I would suggest to this hotel that they should perhaps cool it down a little and leave guests alone. Service mentality is appearing when the guest asks for it, not all the time. Truth is they even neglect to do some things we DID ask for, and very often the pool is closed due to a wedding.
"Awesome service with great room and private beach"
I have stayed here for 4 nights and I would say this is the best service I have ever experienced. Every staff is very nice and active to take care of your needs. The private pool is well maintained and clean. The main pool and the beach are very clean as well. Btw, their breakfast is great.
Amazing resort the staff was friendly, thoughtful and courteous. Public pool has a amazing view of the ocean. The beach is clean and quite with lots of water activities available. Other than the set menu, food was superb. Things to improve: would like hotel management to setup smoking policy on resort grounds. As a non-smoker, dining with smokers smoking right beside you in very uncomfortable.
