"San Luis Resort"
Absolutely fantastic! The pool and resort are great. The H2O pool bar is unique on the island or in the Houston area. The lobby bar had great entertainment on weekends with "Bernard" on the keyboards and his other band members after the dinner crowd. The staff is fantastic and make your stay feel special. Customer service is first class. All three restaurants are great and Thomas and John Paul run a tight ship. I highly recommend the San Luis to anyone wanting a first class get away! John Young and Eduardo overseeing the bars do a great job.
I absolutely love this property! Always amazing staff. Great view from the club ten floor. This hotel sure does know how to make you feel like a celebrity. Mr. Fertitta you are doing something right with this property. Will be back as soon as possible.
"Truly a wonderful customer service"
I was really ecstatic to win the secret bid and find out we were staying at the San Luis. We do a secret hotwire every spring break with the kiddos and last year we stayed at the resort next to this one. We often wondered what it would be like to stay here. The kids just bragged about this trip leading up to our stay because they had heard of the luxury resort. I think we sorta got off to a rocky start though. The staff up front had said our room would be ready, but we actually waited an hour. While we waited, my wife and I had these drinks that were very expensive, but they were good. As we waited, I remember this manager helping out these customers. I thought, "That's a nice guy". Well, I didn't know it at the time, but he would play a big part in our trip. Our room was on the 6th floor i believe. It was quite cozy! Little upset you could not smoke on the balcony, but it was fine. I smoked less when I had to go outside to the parking lot...which was a good thing. The view was amazing although the website says partial views. Yeah, you do have some of the roof below you to in your scenery but whatever. This is where we started feeling like we were going to need some good customer service. The wifi would not connect to my Surface Pro 3 or our laptops and both of us had to work! We called a few times and no one came up, and finally we asked for a manager. That's were the guy when we first got there came into "our" picture. That manager's name is Mark! Mark was such the customer rep. He took me and we went all over the floors looking for how to fix the wifi. We went all the way to the top floor. He spent at least an hour and half doing his best to reset this and reset that. We tested all sorts of mobile devices...the point is, Mark is awesome! He really took care of us, and we felt like royalty for the rest of our stay. He actually offered us a better room, but naw, we stayed put. I did not want to repack. I also want to point out that pool! Its the best I have ever been to...the drinks were flowing. It was so cold outside. I believe it was in the mid 50's...but the pool was heated and I did not want to get out! I love the swim up bar too, and my wife and I met the best people from all over the state. And beautiful people all over LOL Just a great experience! The food was amazing too. Mark even surprised us and sent us out these special ribs. We also ended up meeting John, the young outside manager. He just made me and my family feel special. See, I thought my bar tab was being ran up by someone outside my family. Do you know he put on an investigation and turns out, it was my wife LOL. Point is here, these two managers just really go out of their way for you! I love this place! My family loves this place! Yes, its kinda expensive, but WE WILL BE BACK!!! :-) WHAOHOOO
"The San Luis Resort - Desperately Seeking New Beds"
Much surprise to find this golden nugget in Galveston. Below are positives and negatives. Positives: 1. Clean 2. Great food 3. Easy access to cars 4. Great shops 5. Large pool area (H2O) 6. Many choices for restaurants 7. Great view of ocean from room 8. IHOP within walking distance Negatives 1. Mattress - feels like sleeping on box springs 2. Air condition in room. Must set to low fan or feel like you're in a wet roiom. 3. No seafood restaurant in hotel 4. Air conditioning too cold in restaurants. We wanted to eat breakfast several times but turned around and walked out because it was freezing. 5. Could not get WiFi to work. We will stay here again but will bring our own mattress topper.
What a nice place to have Easter dinner! The red snapper and lasagna were delicious; unfortunately no room left for their incredible looking desserts. I am ready to return again soon🤣. They have a great pool and awesome slide too!!
