"Could have been better."
We stayed at the Shoreham for 4 nights and the best I can say is that it was ok. The first night we realized after getting into bed was that the bottom sheet did not reach the end of the mattress! The second morning we realized our TV was not working. Not really a big deal but we like to listen to the news and weather in the morning. We reported the sheet and TV issue to the front desk and they said it would be taken care of. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were under the impression that we were to receive a discount in the bar (internet said 25%, key folder said 10%) but bartender said that was only on food not drinks. My husband went to the front desk again to speak to a manager. The engineer came over to our table in the bar to tell us we could move to another troom because he could not fix the TV. We also were given coupons for free drinks the next night and free internet. So we moved and everything is great until the next night when the air conditioner in our room went out. The Shoreham is dated but clean and the staff were all wonderful. The best lighting for make up application is in the shower stall where there is a full length mirror. What's up with thart'
"Holiday In new york"
Stayed in the Shoreham Hotel, absolutely loved it, not to far from times sq, Central Park 10 min walk. The hotel was clean and well kept. Service was excellent. Booked a car to take us to Newark Airport and we got a white Limo!!!!!. Would definitely recommend a diner called the stardust, where the waiters and waitresses sing broadway songs totally amazing but go early as the queue after 5 is round the corner! also the food is good. Wifi free in lobby, not in room.
I am not sure how stars are allocated. The rooms need a definite refresh, toilets are so tiny one cannot move inside nor put cosmetics on the sink table, closet is tiny with no shelves, wifi in the rooms is paid for (does it still exist'') and our room 309 is by the elevator and has a full time engine humming noise. Bottom line value for money is not good... On the positive side location is very good, decent modern lobby, free coffee in the lobby (though one machine out of 2 has been out of order the whole stay).
"Perfect Short Break Base"
Enjoyed a 6 night break at the Shoreham. The room was a good size and very comfortable. The staff we all very friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the hotel but the free coffee in the morning was a nice touch. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Central Park, Times Square, Broadway theatres and several subway stations. Only drawback is lack of free Wi-Fi in the rooms.
Stopped here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cheerful and helpful reception staff who sorted any problems we encountered. Also the friendly barman whose name I didn't get (giants fan) looked like he enjoyed his job. Rooms were excellent and a decent size, only complaint no tea or coffee but there is excellent free beverages in the lobby, the French vanilla coffee tastes fantastic. All in all definitely would recommend it and would not hesitate in staying there again
