"Unique and fun"
My wife and I recently stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel has a purposefully unique vibe, even having ping pong and foosball tables in the lobby. Lots of guests with pets too. The location is great for the views, though it'll be a car ride to the hubs of South Beach. The service was ok. Our room wasn't ready until 5:30 even though checkin was 4. I was only offered a refreshment in exchange for the lengthy wait. Given that the hotel is not cheap, that seemed stingy. The gym is good. Better than most, with free weights, cardio and other machines. My wife really enjoyed the spa. And the pool and gardens are gorgeous, with a patio directly over the water. The rooms are sparsely decorated, but the beds are comfy. The bathroom wasn't really great, but the outside tub in the patio room was a nice touch. Also, check out time was 1pm (at least on Saturday), which was nice. Overall, while some things disappointed, we enjoyed our stay and would go back.
I don't care much for reviewing things, but this deserves recognition for how authentically fantastic this place is. We had two.5 days off from a Broadway show in New York so made our way down to Miami beach during the election weekend. After dealing with a stressful Airbnb scam we were on the hunt for a place to crash and relax. We encountered the Standard, located in a quaint area on the marina. It began with a delightful dinner at Lido, which turned into inquiring if there was any availability that night (delighted that there was). The Dutch evening+night staff were friendly, charismatic and hospitable. The rooms are a minimalist design enthusiast's dream; functional, elegant and comfortable. I relaxed in the hot and cold tubs in the 24 hour pool, then dried off and meditated on the secluded hammocks and cozy fire nook. I slept so damn well. The next morning we enjoyed brunch in the sunshine and relaxing in the elegant hammam spa. We wanted to stay the other night that we were in Miami, but that weekend they were completely sold out. Sergio and Sebastien the kind, (I assume the leads/management) of the front were delightfully helpful and empathetic after we explained the Airbnb rubbish we had dealt with. As mentioned before, there were no available rooms-- they personally spent quite a bit of time ensuring we were entertained, phones charged, taken care of, etc while they found a suitable other hotel to rest in that night. This is all amid what I could imagine to be one hell of a busy election weekend for them. They found us a room at a neighbouring hotel, booked it and personally ensured that we were well taken care of. Shout outs to the kind, gorgeous, well dressed, tasteful and charismatic staff. Sebastien the manager, Sergio, the Dutch hosts, Keith at the boutique, Cynthia, et al made us feel pretty damn happy and welcomed. This place made us want to stay at the Standard in New York (a nice getaway from apartment life in Brooklyn). One night here makes me forget about all of the body and mind aches and pains that are associated with being an acrobat in an extremely demanding show. Thank you friends, this place rules!
Sun bath at deck aside thermal pools and drinking Frozeé is the most hedonic moment you should live for. After that prepare yourself for the soothing massage you ever had. Nice service and awesome environment
"An Oasis for our 20th Anniversary"
I decided to do a Surprise anniversary Get away for my wife for our 20th anniversary. I booked a Garden tub room. They let us have early checkin. We started off at the Lido Bar and Lounge having drinks by the bay. The bartender was fast and friendly and the drinks were strong. The room was comfortable and even has a tub in the patio area for relaxing and soaking under the stars. There are drapes around the patio so it is private. The bed was comfortable and there is a couch also for relaxing. The mini bar is well stocked. The pool area has plenty of chairs and lounges and the staff is quick to come for any food or drink orders. you can relax facing the bay or on a dock or around the pool. There is a Jacuzzi area with a waterfall. Just as a warming to those that are shy, That after dark people can be quite open there. As 2 other couples came and just peeled away clothes to their underwear and only small thongs for the women and no tops and hopped in. Everyone was very friendly. After finishing at the Jacuzzi we were hungry and the restaurant was closed. we asked at the front desk what food there was and he asked if we wanted sandwiches and gave us a choice of a few. My wife selected what she wanted and he went and go it. After handing it to my wife and she asked him to put it on our room, he said it's on us. We went to the lougers by the patio fire and relaxed there and ate our food. The next morning we had breakfast at the Lido Bayside Grill and relaxed looking at the view. The parking is Valet and you text you ticket number when you want you car. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. there are other activities there such as yoga and a Spa. We will return
The standard was absolute paradise. Staff was wonderful. Amenities are fabulous. Spa is amazing. Lush gardens. Pools beautiful. You can watch the boats pull up to the dock from the pool. Restaurant and food great. Room are comfortable, nice pillows and bedding. It can be a bit loud during the evening hours however they supply you with earplugs. Best spot in Miami!
