Very good place to stay with wonderful service from all staffs standing place with privet beach, good breakfast some nice restaurant just on the right at the entrance of the hotel with reasonable price.
Stayed at The Surin for 4 to 5 nights in a cottage near the beach. This place is amazing from arrival to departure. All requests are met and sometimes beyond expectations. All staff are well-trained and speak decent if not fluent English. Any issue or miscommunication is rectified promptly. The beach is accessed only by guests from The Surin and its neighbour. The sunsets at cocktail hour provide a spectacular start to evenings of gastronomic proportions. The restaurants serve such great interpretations of Thai and international cuisines that you might consider not leaving the hotel grounds at all during your stay even if the prices could double what you would pay outside. Just be forewarned that there is a lot of walking up and downhill to get around as the property is carved on a hill slope. There is no physical kids club but kids' activities are organised every afternoon at the Library and beach activities are free of charge except those not run by the hotel. Free parking is available for those who rent a car to get around the island.
"Absolutely perfect hotel"
My wife and I stayed here is part of our honeymoon. The entire stay was absolutely amazing, despite less than ideal weather in the area. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade us to one of the deluxe cottages. We had a great view of the ocean and worth steps from the beach. The cottage itself was very well appointed, with literally anything you would ever possibly need including umbrella, bug spray, and rubber slippers. The beach is pristine and you really do feel like you have your own private area. The best part is the morning breakfast which is one of the best Hotel breakfast I have ever had. Look forward to hopefully coming back again in the future.
We stayed in a private bungalow on the beach and surrounded by bananas, coconuts and other tropical trees in May of 2013. It was so serene. The hotel served delicious breakfast but there are also other restaurants nearby. It was monsoon season so the weather was a typical " rain and shine" weather but we still enjoyed the pool. What I love most in this hotel is our bungalow as it really brings sophistication, serenity and romance in one go. Because of this, one can never forget.
I stayed on a bungalow on the beach . You need to be pretty fit if you want to stay in the upper rooms as the hike is significant. The pool was under repair and the main restaurant was closed so was a bit disappointed
