Absolutely loved this hotel, check in was super easy, the Staff were all very helpful & the rooms are very spacious & comfortable, location was great, I was celebrating my 50th Birthday & the hotel very kindly sent me a bottle of lovely red wine & a bottle of champagne & 2 cakes, everyone we dealt with couldn't of been more helpful if we are lucky enough to visit this wonderful city again I would definitely stay at the Surrey!
"Wonderful hotel in a wonderful location!"
I have stayed at The Surrey many times, and it is always a terrific experience. The rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are spacious, the beds are wonderfully sleep- inducing, thee lobby is always welcoming , and the staff is exceptional. A special thanks to concierge Michael, who can resolve any issue or reservation request easily and with no problems. It is expensive, but I feel it is very good value.
"Thanksgiving in NYC"
We visited NY for my mums 50th birthday and for thanksgiving. The Surrey was fantastic, the rooms were so spacious and the beds so comfortable! The shower was so powerful which was great after a long day of exploring the city! We would walk anywhere we wanted to go which was lovely especially as the hotel is so close to Central Park we would explore through there! I can't thank Morgan Rae at the front desk enough, she was lovely super helpful at pointing places out and giving us information! Also I couldn't believe house keeping would come around again in the evening to re make the room if it was messy an top up for complimentary water was great! Everyone was polite there an I would definitely stay there again & recommend to family an friends visiting NYC
My friends were trying to convince me that The Surrey is the best hotel to stay in when visiting NYC (now that I no longer live there). My room was generic and sub-par especially compared to my friends' rooms and we paid the same price. The staff was less than pleasant with the manager being rude. I will return to The Gansevoort and The Palace as they are of a much higher quality and make for a better visit.
"Outstanding hotel in nice neighborhood"
This is my second stay at the Surrey. It is a nice, cozy boutique hotel on a quiet side street between Fifth Ave. and Madison Ave. The first thing that attracted me to return and didn't disappoint was the hospitality of the staff. Secondly, the beds are so very comfortable. I enjoyed three nights of really good sleep. It is worth coming to the Surrey for the bed alone. The third factor that will bring me back to the Surrey is the location. It is quiet but easily accessible to the life and activity of midtown, the beauty of Central Park and the fine shopping on Madison Ave and other nearby streets. I highly recommend the Surrey.
