Five star service. By mistake I traveled to the city without my wallet and even though the cabbie said he accepted Applepay his machine did not work. The manager on duty lent me cash for my cab. I was in helpful hands at The Surrey. And we upgraded to a wonderful Junior Suite at a reduced rate since the room was not booked. Can't wait to stay there again.
We stayed here for one night to see a Broadway show and it was perfect. We arrived very early (well before check-in) and we went to drop our bags, but were informed that our room was ready! The hotel is a great location just off the park and close to museums. Definitely a splurge on price, but so worth it!
Eat out the restaurant is not great. Plan ahead for everything you may need - they are very nice and will get you whatever you want, but you have to tell them. Lovely lovely service though; the people are well trained and extremely nice.
"Very Nice Hotel but...."
This hotel is very well appointed with great service and location. My only complaint is that anyone arriving after 9pm is limited for food to a bar with a very limited and expensive menu. The food was quite good but very pricey. I would stay here again but think more than twice about dining here.
"Good Hotel, Best Location."
We have stayed at all the deluxe Hotels in this neighbourhood and liked this one. A great location, the super upper east side with a short walk to the museum mile and Central Park. Our room was well appointed and well serviced, the rates are high but this hotel is intimate, has a nice quiet bar perfect for late night drinks and all the staff were friendly, engaging and professional. Only little glitches were the plumbing noises from other rooms (old building), the rooms a little fussy with so much stuff and at times the front desk had queues. I will stay here again, loved the atmosphere and super location.
