"Very noisy and overpriced"
Hotel was very noisy for renovations and street traffic as well. Because of renovations rooftop bar was closed and there were constructions noises from 8 to 5. Dumpster truck at night was very noisy also. Seemed like windows were open
We paid a lot to stay here last weekend... unfortunately we were not told there was renovations going on... tried to have a drink in the bar but the barman was far too busy showing ladies how to make cocktails to serve us... reception staff were most unhelpful and we almost felt like we were in the way... work started again at 8am Sunday morning... overall clean but just not worth the hefty price tag. Only good point was breakfast which was lovely with very lovely members of staff attending, although we thought we had prepaid for breakfast only to find if you wanted something hot you had to pay a supplement!
"Hilton Trafalgar Hotel"
Great, welcoming and professional service and ideal location. Refurbishment under way but am sure it will look good once completed. Comfortable rooms, nice decor. Very large bathroom. Internet very good
"Excellent location, reasonable service, nice staff"
This hotel is located on the south-west corner of Trafalgar Square, walking distance to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The bar/breakfast area is almost immediately at the entrance, which can be a bit disconcerting, but if you sit toward the back of the area it's fine. There are only a few newspapers available each day, so if you're looking for a specific paper you may be out of luck. There are some good restaurants are toward the south-east, across the street. Upon check-in a room upgrade was pushed (under the guise of it being the only way to get a room before 3pm), but it wasn't something I'd normally upgrade to at that price point. The room had a built-in step to a higher area with the windows, which wasn't flagged or noted in anyway, which meant I tripped at night when going to the windows. This should be flagged for guests to avoid injury and liability. This is a Hilton property, so you can collect HHonours points, and happily have your perks in the program provided. The staff are generally helpful and friendly. Walking in late at night can be a bit dodgy because of the location, so be alert. There are always staff at the front desk, so there is that bit of added security. Also note that Ubers and some taxis have difficult locating the hotel's entrance, so be prepared to call the Uber driver to advise where you want to meet up.
"Stay Away - Under Construction"
I used to stay at the Trafalgar a lot because of the location and satisfactory rooms and hotel amenities. However, I won't be staying there again. The hotel has been under construction for a very long time, so there has been no fitness center for the last year and there is construction noise between the hours of about 8am and 6pm. There are also funny smells throughout the hotels and in the rooms.
