"My London Marathon Stay at The Trafalgar "
Needed Hotel with Great Location, For London Marathon, The Trafalgar ticked all the boxes. Located a stone's throw from St Jame's Park and the finish at Pall Mall. The first impression of Hotel, was reception area, which had a really fabulous shade of blue and staff were very helpful. Room was for Myself, Wife and two teenage daughters. Good size, with all facilities you would need. Bonus was a bath and separate Shower Cubicle. ( also Window, you can actually open, so you can let some fresh air in) I did not use Hotel Bar, as I was abstaining from Alcohol and Roof terrace was closed, for renovation work, would not be opening till Autumn 2017. Only disappointment was lack of correct information about Breakfast time, as I asked on two separate occasions, when breakfast was served on Sunday Morning. Vital, I got early Breakfast, told Breakfast started at 7am and would not be any earlier. So shocked to find other Guests, running Marathon , having Their breakfast at earlier time. Overall, great stay and would like to go back, When Roof Terrace bar is open and would recommend The Trafalgar to anyone who wants a quality Hotel, that is close to tourist sights, parks, tube stations, the Thames and very good restaurants.
"Trafalgar Hotel Renovations"
Hotel is in a great location, but having used the hotel before somewhat surprised to find the upgrade work would impact so heavily. Main two bars closed- breakfast area located in a dull underground room. Staff excellent but not put in a position of empowerment to keep customers happy!!!!
Very noisy from drilling due to refurbishment which we were not informed about and is not mentioned on hotel website. Room very tired with poor decoration, random holes in ceiling. Bed very uncomfortable, no heating in bathroom. Staff nice and we were given a complimentary breakfast to compensate for noise but it didn't. Food very average.
The Trafalgar Hotel in London was a great hotel to stay. The location at Trafalgar Square is great, the Underground is very close, the staff is ready to help always and the food delicious. Ahmed and the breakfast staff are ready to serve a great breakfast every morning. The hotel is very near Buckingham Palace, the theater district, West Minster Abbey and many other top sites in London. My wife and I would definitely recommend staying at the Trafalgar Hotel.
Noisy due to refurbishment and certainly the hotel needs refurbishing. Drilling from when we arrived to 6pm. Rooms very tired. Bed very hard. Staff charming hotel well located close to theatre district, shops and with good tube lines etc.
