An urban hotel with a fine pricing for this visit. The staff did appear to care. Excellent location for dining and theater. Room was well laid out even though small. Bathroom exceeded expectations. We did not use the restaurants other than for continental breakfast and afternoon tea. Both were fine with a very attentive staff.
"Comfortable stay and good service!"
I spent 3 nights during Christmas holiday, arrived hotel at 7 in the morning, the receptionist was very friendly, he offered me an option to take a better room with a supplement upgrade rate, it was a reasonable rate, and I can go to the room immediately to get some rest after a long flight, which normally check in time should be 3pm. Bath room was big but the room itself was a bit small, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, but can be better. On Christmas Day, when I came back from sightseeing, a Christmas present hanging on the door, many chocolates and candies arranged by the hotel team, with a Christmas card from the hotel general manager. Nice and sweet surprise! Due to Christmas holiday, hotel restaurant was serving a set dinner menu, I end up ordered in room dinning. I had a steak with potato, yummy! On the departure date, I was planning to take taxi to the airport, the concierge staff tried to arrange a hotel limo for me, was a brand new BMW, and the price was same as what I paid for a taxi on arrival date, very good deal! If I go to London again, this hotel would be one of my choice.
My daughter and I stayed here to celebrate her 21st . Our room was not ready when we arrived 1pm but that was expected so we left our bags and had a wander around Covent Garden then to the Shard for birthday afternoon tea . We returned around 6 pm and there was a much welcomed big on tap jar of fresh lemon water available by the concierge area, we poured a glass each and was so refreshing . We went to our room which was amazing room 535 it was huge with separate dressing area and walk in closet with tea/coffee/fridge etc . There was a birthday cake for my daughter on the table and my daughter was so happy with this it made her day . A knock at the door brought an ice bucket and champagne flutes for our champagne which I brought with me as a surprise . The bathroom was huge and I can honestly say the best Hilton room I've stayed in and I've stayed in a few to date . The beds were very comfortable and there was no noise at all . We headed out again later to sample a few cocktail bars and a meal out . Breakfast was fabulous and everything you could ask for with many choices for the most fussy eaters , plus fresh juices, coffees , teas to choose from . Check out easy and staff were extremely efficient and friendly . The Waldorf is spotlessly clean with every amenity on tap . We didn't use the pool this trip but I have done previous when I stayed here on my eldest daughters 21st birthday a few years back where we enjoyed the amazing afternoon tea here too. Nothing negative whatsoever the hotel is just delightful .
"Another wonderful stay."
I have just spent three days (two nights) at The Waldorf Hilton in Aldwych, London. I have stayed previously but as I had my 10 yr old daughter with me this visit, the dynamics were very different. Because of this, prior to our visit we liaised with the Hotel staff regarding accommodation. The staff could not have been more helpful. In particular, Eszter Hilszenrath was outstanding in her help and support. She went that extra mile to ensure our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and problem free. It worked a treat, thank you so much for that. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will return.
"Theatre stay over"
Was expecting a bit more glitz. Room was ready at 2pm so good to check in early.......however, no mention on booking.com or on hotel website of £50 per room additional fee to cover potential breakages/services. This was not explained when we checked in. I have no problem paying this but it should be made clear. The room was average. Window would not open at all but from view it was clear other rooms did have this 'luxury' so reliant on air con. Bed was extremely comfortable so that was a plus. Sunday morning brought a smelly end to our stay as the room and bathroom was over powered by the smell of a drain. This hotel was great for visiting the show 'Beautiful' and potter around Covent Garden but lacked any extras you might expect.
