"Wonderful hotel with a superb professional staff."
I love the Waldorf because it has a lovely feel about it. It is an historic building in its own right and the staff understand how that heritage has to be maintained. They all seem to work hard to preserve that aura. We were given a warm welcome by Jemma McKay who settled us in for our three night stay. Our other contact at the hotel is Amilton de Sousa who is a credit to the Hilton Organisation. He works hard and sets the tone on the front desk. Our room was at the front of the building with a view looking down into the Aldwych. The room temperature was just right considering it was a freezing outside. We stayed over a weekend and the corridors were silent throughout and we slept soundly on a lovely Hilton bed. The bathroom and showers were modern and easy to operated. I could not fault the cleanliness or the condition of the third floor room. We had lovely food in the hotel and in the excellent Hilton Executive Lounge. The staff in the lounge is lovely and so accommodating. The food and drink is good quality and I was delighted with the variety and freshness of the offerings. Perhaps for us the Waldorf being in the heart of Theatre land is a major delight. The location is fabulous for all we want to do in London = absolutely ideal. We have tried all the other Hiltons in London but for us this is the best.
"Friday night London stay over"
Good Bedroom suite, staff friendliness Not good Executive Restaurant for breakfast - tired pastries, over done scrambled egg, cold bacon, cold plates Outrageous GBP12.50 for in room wi-if plus blocking technology that prevents receiving public wi-fi
great place to stay, very convenient and lovely room. Bar extremely expensive and slow service. Breakfast very good in the morning, rooms was very quiet at the back of the hotel. Would recommend as an overnighter for the theatre
We stayed 2 nights and when I told them it was our anniversary we got a bottle of wine. We were upgraded for an additional £150 to a junior suite and entrance to the VIP lounge. It was worth the extra and we would have no hesitation in going back next year. The breakfast was good and the staff were very attentive. It is so central for theatre land and shopping.
