"Classic atmosphere "
Good hotel in the new part of the city, good location next to the river (nice views to the old town). There is an old and newer part of the hotel. Both nice but a small renovation is required. Sometimes the WiFi is very weak and/or slow.
We visited Dresden in December mostly to go to the Christmas marekts. This hotel was close to the city center, you could just cross the birdge and be there. We walked everywhere. The staff was friendly. WiFi reliable. Breakfast was pretty good. I didn't like that the bed had two comforters and no top sheet...but that seemed to be a trend throughout Germany. I would definately stay here again.
Very convenient place close to the city center . Good quality/price ratio , good bedrooms, very friendly service from the bar staff. Area that need to improve is the breakfast service. Probably due to the "traffic " intensity, table clearance tables too slow and the chairs were a bit dirty .
"Pack 'em in. Money (income) not customer satisfaction or qualityappears to be the main management objective"
Stayed here with a group of 20 or so mature travelers (none requiring special assistance). Hotel adequate but not refurbished for several years (no minimum water usage in toilets; no card operated lighting to room in order to save electricity; no safety catches on windows - I was on the third floor overlooking a busy street and there was at least one floor above me). This hotel caters for tourists at Christmas time and in my opinion (together with some of my fellow travelers) fails miserably in the catering department. I appreciate that German food in general does not have the kudos of the French cuisine but this food - particularly the main course at dinner was practically inedible. Our initial complain was met on subsequent evenings with an overcooked dish of vegetables on our dining table. THIS WAS NOT A SOLUTION - but again in my opinion - A FURTHER AGGRAVATION - who wants to eat tepid overcooked vegetables that get colder by the minute' There may have been other restaurants in the hotel but if so they were not open. If the hotel is not able to cater for over 200 guests at approximately the same time they should either reduce the guest count or even consider hiring more chefs and offering individual menu's instead of buffet style meals. Should I visit Dresden again, I shall not be staying at the Westin Bellvue and I caution any who might go there as part of a tourist group..
Hotel pleasant good location for old town and sites ( walk over river Elbe) limited menu options in main restaurant ( buffet style) wifi painfully SLOW ! Been here over Christmas local markets enjoyable lots of sights for architectural buffs !
