This is your typical hotel. CLose your eyes and you wouldn't know if it was any different than other chains. The Starbucks in the lobby is nice alogn with the gym. The rooms were a little small but overall fair place.
The communication (emails) with the hotel is great, always a prompt and kind reply. We were very tired after a 7 hour drive and waited over 15 minutes for check-in. Lots of people and only 2 counters open. When it was our turn, service was perfect. Room was nice but nothing special. As expected clean, quiet heat/ac, good shower pressure, comfy beds/pillows..but over $400 night'!' And an additional $38 per night for car park. Very expensive. I had emailed ahead of time for late checkout (4pm) and this was confirmed also through email. On departure day, the cleaning ladies were in the hall so I came out of my room to ask for an extra towel for that morning. Here's how that conversation went: Her: Why do you need a towel you are leaving this morning. Me: I didn't see the need to have our room cleaned the previous days and have no more clean towels. I would like to shower this morning and am only leaving at 4pm. I have late check out. Her: You need to be out before 3pm, it says right here on my paper. And I finish at 4pm. Me: I have the email from the hotel confirming 4pm check out. Her: Show me this. She comes into my room. I find the email, she reads it, hands me a towel and says no later than 4 pm you will be out and if you can leave sooner, that would be great because I'm supposed to finish at 4pm. I promise her I'd do my best but if I could leave sooner, I would not have asked for late check out. Definitely felt like I was getting 'kicked out'. Had dinner at the restaurant, super kind / attentive staff and delicious food. Well worth it. Overall, very nice hotel, good food but.. over $1000 for 2 nights is overpriced especially when your last day ends with "get the heck out, the sooner the better".
"Great stay and service"
I intended to stay at the Hilton but whenI arrived the Hilton sold my room!!! So I was left with our a room 4 am. The Westin was able to accommodate me and their service was superb. Room had an amazing view and the breakfast buffet was good.
"Boston Marathon 2017"
I stayed at the Westin for when I ran the 2017 Boston Marathon. It was a truly great experience. There was a shuttle the morning of the race to take me to the bus pickup location. This was very convenient and lessened race day stress. Additionally, there's a Starbucks in the lobby, which is open early enough in the morning to get breakfast and a coffee pre-race! Awesome. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The concierge, Pam Logue, was AMAZING. She was so kind and so helpful when I could hardly walk post-race. I am forever grateful!
The Westin hotel is very nice and exciting to stay in, it's huge and you can stay there for many nights without getting tired of it. It's in the center of Boston, so you're around everything, walking wise. Very expensive hotel, rooms, and food. Only flaw.
