This place was under renovation when I stayed, but it still maintained the key aspects of Westin that I expect: an excellent bed and great service. The driver who picked me up from the Airport could not have been more courteous. He was absolutely lovely and started my stay off right. The front desk folks were equally as charming and were very apologetic about the renovation, which was nice to hear. It's almost done and I'm sure it'll look great when everything is completed. The good thing was that they were finished renovating the guest rooms, which I must say, look absolutely gorgeous. They're very roomy and the decor is elegant and sophisticated without being overly stuffy. I honestly would love to have a room like this in my own home. The beds were brand new and in typical Westin fashion were just lovely. My sleep was incredibly restful considering the 747s taking off above me. There's also an excellent view of the runway which is a treat it you're an aviation nerd like me. I used my SPG points for the stay and was incredibly pleased with the value I received. If you're looking for accommodation by the airport, do not hesitate to stay here.
The stay was free courtesy of a point holder. ;) The good. The room is nice, hardwood is a great idea (it may be laminate') the hotel is nice and close to the airport. The shuttle driver was fantastic telling us exactly what to do when we returned. The bad. People that stay there are so loud and inconsiderate. Don't let your door slam. We were close to the elevators, so that was unlucky. Also beds a bit hard for my liking. The worst. You have to pay for wifi.... seriously'!!'!''' Other hotels nearby have park n fly and have free wifi. That's just silly!! All in it was what we needed for the night before travel. Would look elsewhere next time tho
"Over priced and under delivered"
I will keep it brief. This is a tired hotel that charges more than it is worth. It is the quintessentially bland business airport hotel. The whole place is tired and needs a major renovation. The decorations are non existent. The atmosphere is non-existent. The price is high for what you get and I was astounded, in this day and age, to be charged $9.99 for wifi access. This service is now essential to modern travellers and should be included. It is almost insulting to the customer to demand a fee for wifi access. The saving graces were proximity to airport for early flight next day and the amazing guy who drove the transport van who simply could not do enough for us. Canadians are great people but perhaps their corporate businesses need to offer the same welcome and charm. We would not choose to go here again.
"Excellent friendly service!"
The staff at the Westin are super friendly and extremely professional. I called the reception once I cleared Canadian customs and they sent me the Westin airport shuttle, waited about 5 minutes for the shuttle, the ride from the airport was another 5 . Check in was a breeze room is nice.
"A Decent Place to Stay for a Weekend"
Rooms were clean, efficient, and decently sized. We were only there for two nights and on the second night the room beside us had a small party going on. We could hear absolutely everything and it was impossible to sleep. They weren't playing loud music but just the talking from the group of 4-5 people was either loud enough, or the walls were thin enough to cause a restless, disturbed night. There was one elevator that had some graffiti in it, which I was surprised at. Staff however, was extremely friendly and professional. The valet and doormen deserve extra mention. We would stay here again for the service alone, but would upgrade to a suite next time as we usually like more amenities when we travel.
