"Misstreatment by Hotelstaff"
During my 5 nights stay in the hotel I had to write the folowing complaint just before finalizing check out (which explains it all): 1. On Check in it already started with some miscommunication between the reservations and front office team which already seemed strange to me and made it a lengthy process 2. Front office staff has not informed us which services are included and which not (extra charges) 3. Breakfast staff seems very inattentive and busy chatting instead of looking after the guests properly 4. In room amenities not regularly replaced, not enough water given > once informing reception on the same > housekeeping was sending us 4 bathrobes and 6 pairs of slippers and everything in excessive amount than just for 2 guests 5. Requested for late checkout at 5pm the night before check out and got positive confirmation on the same . however received a call from reception at 1:30pm telling me that standard check out at 12pm and if I wanted to extend 6. I ordered some sandwiches from room service and have been asked by the lady on the phone how I wanted to settle the bill which I told her I would like to sign to my room like with all other extra charges > food was delivered 7. One of the staff members from room service comes and explains me that I cannot do the same as they have no credit card given > I told the lady that I am anyway checking out in 2 hours and for sure can settle total extra then 8. I receive a call from Front Office telling me that I seem to have an issue with room service staff and how I would like to settle the bill > I explained once more over phone that I am leaving in 2 hours and want to sign this to my room like previous bills from Bar & Laundry > the persons insist on immediate settlement of bill > I tell him if that is that case to bring the total bill of all extras and that I was very disappointed how this gets handled here 9.The person arrives with Duty Manager and explain the persons once more on my disappointment on guest service in the house and that I am treated if I was wanting to run away from a total bill of around ZAR 1,000 albeit being a regular SPG guest with all details (including credit card details) known and I cleared the bill with my credit card on the doorstep 1,5h before being picked up by our Chauffeur Service from Emirates Airlines and actual check out I call back from Hotel was offered a few days latr over email but not received. Very dissapointing Cape Town stay.
"Excellent hotel with OK service"
Visited Capetown and stayed here for 20 days. The hotel infrastructure is superb including but not limited to rooms, gym, spa, swimming pools etc. The hotel breakfast menu was wide bit limited from a vege point of view. There is a scope to rotate the menu after every 3-4 days. However the quality and importantly the speed of room service needs improvement. One has to call numerous times to get water bottles. Overall a good stay.
"Very enjoyable stay but highlight was the staff"
Stayed for a week for a business conference. The hotel was very good but the staff were all so incredibly friendly and efficient - made a real difference. The restaurant was good, definately go to the 19th floor for breakfast with great views. There is a smoking room, but even as a smoker I'd avoid it!
"Great business hotel, decent price."
Nice hotel with a very good standard of room. If you can afford it, go for the Raddison blue down by the Victoria and Albert harbour. In the mornings you can see Dolphins jumping out of the sea, which is lovely – you certainly can't see that from the Westin hotel! There is nothing wrong with this hotel, and it really is not far from the harbour which is what you want to be for all of the action!
"A no complaint business hotel"
This is a rather large hotel, modern and reasonably well furnished and equipped. Room size is good , so are the bathrooms. It has several restaurants and bars, one of them dedicated to Smokers, with its own cigar corner. So if you are a smoker you do not need to freeze on cold evenings on the outside pavement. Breakfast has reasonable varieties...but nothing wow or really delicious. Service is good by African standards. It is an efficient business hotel, good free Wifi, but otherwise neither charming or memorable. One of those places that a few months later you will neither remember positively or negatively. The hotel is located close to the ocean and the Albert & Victoria Pier (10 minutes away on foot). The Pier is an interesting attraction with its marina, shops, restaurants, museum and other facilities...including a number of small hotels, office buildings and upscale residences. Apart from the pier, the hotel is in a business district...in the evening it is rather deserted ...within a 10 to 15 minute walk there is a pizzeria, a Burger King and a Turkish dinner. Have not seen any supermarkets or grocery stores nearby.
