"Very nice hotel"
I stayed here for a long weekend with a couple of friends. The property is very nice and the hotel is in a great location - close enough to The Bean, Miracle Mile, great shopping, restaurants and the Architectural Boat Tours. I parked my rental car in a nearby garage and walked everywhere for three days. Parking is pricey at the hotel which is why I parked a couple of blocks over. We enjoyed our room view, the concierge provided some great dining suggestions and the gym had a lot of the same machines my gym at home offers. I also enjoyed the ambiance outside by the hotel bar/restaurant. I would stay here again.
Amazing customer service from the moment we stepped into the hotel. As a Starwood SPG member, it seems like your staying with family in a 5 star experience. Thank Nateisha Congo (front desk team member) for the warm hospitality! My wife and I are newly weds who will definitely stay at the Westin again, love this city! Great location on the river, we walked everywhere from sightseeing to restaurants :)
We stayed recently for a birthday celebration. We received terrific SPG Platinum recognition. The chief concierge, Ms. Treacy was amazing and helped plan a truly memorable stay! The Westin River North is my go-to hotel in Chicago for business and leisure.
We are visiting here on a big sports weekend--Cubs in the playoffs, college football . . .We coudln't watch any of it on the TV in our room. The cheesy cable service doesn't get Fox Sports (the Cubs game) or the Big 10 network (Northwestern v. Michigan State) and the channel for the Wisconsin v. Ohio State game. (ABC) was not working. Truly ridiculous for almost $600 a night! We could have gotten better access at a much less expensive hotel. After a nice day around town, it was very frustrating not to be able to relax in our room and watch sports. And there is a daily charge for internet service!
"Convenience in the city"
Went for a girls weekend in October to Chicago. I love the heavenly beds and modern decor of Starwood's Westin brand. Hotwire found us an excellent rate of $167 per night, so we jumped on it. Westin Chicago on N Dearborn is in a perfectly central zone to take advantage of sightseeing the on the river, shopping, restaurants & the theater district. It's a bit of a hike to the Lake (15 mins brisk walk), but can be done. The views from our room thatbfaced N Dearborn & the House of Blues were somewhat blocked, as are most of the central hotels in ChiTown (so much new construction!). It's right on the river with a lovely serviced patio outside where you can watch the boats go by. The room had two doubles, which were perfect for 2 people, but Abby cozy for 3 😊 The bathroom was very spacious with modern, basic amenities. Only one robe provided (for 3 people). We ran into the housekeepers several times and they were always very kind and did a nice job of resetting the room. In the lobby, the checking folks were very courteous and efficient. There was a nice refreshment station with tea or juice each day (I would have appreciated a simple water dispenser as well). In the evenings after I think 9pm, there were a couple of pizzas under warming lights which we sampled several times. The furniture was modern, ample and available. The lighting was typical dark and moody with loud-ish music beating in the lounge. The concierge pointed us in the direction of good food and tours. We wanted to use the 3 bikes out front but we're advised that they were "being serviced". I need to mention the valet service. Although I did. It park my vehicle in their $70per day valet garage, the team in front let me park in their small circular drive to unload and move my luggage to my room without me feeling interrogated or like I was a problem in anyway. Pleasant interactions and compliments both when I arrived and two days later when I left. Didn't get names, but they were very nice. Side note: Parker my vehicle one block away at SelfPark on Kizzie for $40 per day. Used App: Best Parking to find it. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
