"Convenient location but not a fun hotel."
We usually stay at Marriott because they are consistent and we like the brand. This property is conveniently located right near Amtrak back bay station and local businesses. It also had a convention that I attended and a good convention rate. I was happy to hear that Westin would recognize my Gold status if I linked my account online which I did before my stay. It was fairly easy and free. Westin, however, does not grant concierge access to Gold members but only to platinum. I negotiated a discounted rate for concierge access with the property. They tried to charge me full price for this at check in until I showed them my email with the lower rate. Also my bedding needed to be changed as I requested hypo-allergenic beforehand. The lounge was clean with good service but the selections provided were limited. I would not choose this option again. The worst part about check in was that Westin requires a pin to use a corporate credit card. I have neve been asked his before and didn't have one so I had to use a personal card and then jump through hoops with the bank. Others had similar experiences. Not a good way to start a trip. The room itself was fine but I did hear a lot of hallway noise at night and in the morning while I was there. Also there is no pool nor a hot tub but the gym looked decent. The hotel offers early check in for a fee, which is tacky. They also offer 500 points if you do not have your room cleaned daily, even tackier! Check out is noon. I can't say I would use this hotel again.
"Too Soon to Say Good-Bye to Boston"
We were in town to participate in the 2017 Boston Marathon and had decided to extend our stay at the last minute. Being a frequent guest at Westin properties, we were able to secure a pre-paid room on-line for the night after the Marathon. Shortly after completing our booking, we were offered an early check-in for an additional $25 - since we were moving from another hotel with a 12:00 check-out we gladly accepted. Our room was ready as promised and we were checked into a corner room on the 10th floor with a magnificent view of downtown Boston. The location for a Marathon participant couldn't be better as the hotel is literally 1 block from the finish line. We were able to explore the downtown easily from the hotel and were within an easy walk of the riverfront and Storrow drive. There are a substantial number of restaurants in the area as well as a grocery store that allowed us to stock-up. We were able to use the overhead indoor walkway in the evening to head out to dinner and even had an enjoyable tour of the Boston Public Library on our way back. The only concern - my Dodge Ram 1500 is considered to be an "oversized" vehicle. This attracted a $14.00 premium on the Valet Parking charge and the hotel only has 3 spaces available for O/S vehicles. I am not sure where my truck would have ended up had they been full... All in all, a very pleasant extra night in Boston!
"Boston Marathon Weekend"
This was our second stay at the Westin Copley Place. From the time we pulled up to the door to the time we check out our stay was a treat. Front desk check in was a breeze our bags showed up to our room quickly. The view from our River View 34th floor room was amazing even more amazing at night. Had dinner at the Fogo De Chao restaurant first evening for the convenience. Breakfast at the Huntington room each morning was a pleasure, Jules and Ezra were our servers over our stay, so pleasant and helpful. Buffet was delicious, enjoyed the omelette, waffles, pancakes and much more. Evandra and Shamistan were a welcoming pair in the morning, smiles always. Our plans and reservations are made already for next year. This hotel is so convenient to the transportation to the start line and to the finish line, made the morning of the race that much easier. Boylston street is an easy walk away.
"Best Boston Hotel,"
The staff, rooms, and the view are amazing! I've been staying here since 2015 and I've had nothing but positive experiences. Brian, Matt H, Juan, Jen and Shana go above and beyond in serving the guests. Huge shout out to them. SPG is lucky to have them. The lounge staff, baggage staff, cleaning staff, and basically all the employees are great. Their willingness and kindness really made me feel like a MVP during my business travels to Boston. Best SPG staff I've had the pleasure of meeting! The hotel beds are the comfiest beds ever. Heavenly. The newly renovated gym and lounge are fantastic. It's a world-class hotel in one of the best cities in the world.
