"Best Sunday Lunch on the island"
We came last Sunday for our 3rd Sunday lunch at the Westin and I must say it was excellent again, altough the restaurant was full the kitchen staff and service staff were great. Another great expierence at Westin. Thanks again goes to Fabio and Sean Paul for your service. The best Sunday Lunch on the island.
We spent 3 weeks at the Dragonara and had a wonderful holiday. The staff at all levels are extremely professional and we sensed a very happy atmosphere. Really looked forward to our breakfast which is served from 6.30am until 10.30am how civilized! with a terrific choice. Housekeeping was of a high standard with linen changed every day. We have visited Malta many times and always stay at a different Hotel - we were not disappointed here.
"Best mohijto in town!"
We were very pleased with the service offered by Mr. Ramon Fenech. His cocktails were superb. he made us enjoy every minute of our stay at the Westin Dragonara Resort Hotel. Good job and once again excellent service.
"Grand hotel. Disappointing service "
The hotel is beautiful, there is no doubt. It's lobby is luxurious and the comfy sofas and soft lighting makes you feel at ease. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was large, but didn't have a bidet. Our room was not cleaned until afternoons, which we complained about, as we like to nap after a morning out and about and this was rectified. While check in staff were pleasant, service at the lobby bar was hit and miss and very expensive. Unfortunately we had to spend some time there in order to obtain free wifi, which is chargeable in your room. Breakfast at€25 per person per day was ridiculously overpriced and we went to a local cafe for a good croissant and coffee instead. The gym was good, the swimming pool small but clean. Sauna and steam room are inside the changing rooms, again very small but adequate. The beauty salon staff were friendly and efficient. The New Year's Eve buffet we attended at the hotel was catered for well, food being good and plentiful. However, the hired band were totally inappropriate for the event. The play list consisted of rock, given that the average guest was over 55 or under 18 this put a dampener on the evening. All in all, not a bad hotel but not as good as you would expect for a luxurious place charging luxurious prices to stay there.
"Disappointing customer service"
We had an executive room which was not properly prepared. No pen or paper and not the correct items in the mini bar. We were subsequently charged for four items that only appeared on our second day. Also be aware that there is an additional charge of 2 euros for the recycling. This is a government tax but not absorbed by the hotel! The room was comfortable. Beds were fine but with two duvets which we found very hot the first night. The heating had to be turned on when we arrived as the room was very cold. Bathroom toiletries are small and didn't cater for two people showering and washing their hair! There was terrible ventilation in the bathroom with everything steaming up when the shower was used and the floor became very wet. We had executive lounge access which at the moment is being refurbished so we were advised that the lobby bar would give similar service. It didn't. Staff had not been properly notified of this and on our first evening didn't seem to understand our use of the bar. The second night was OK but on our third visit we were charged! Finally the Westin brand advertise the hiring of gym clothes. It was a real hassle to do this here, so I would not recommend that you do it. The gym however is good with lots of equipment, weights etc. Much better than most hotel fitness centres. We felt overall that there was poor communication among staff and management and slow service.
