"Nice hotel but lobby is much nicer than the rooms"
Maybe it was the somewhat chilly weather but this hotel did not wow us. It is supposedly one of the best on the island but it is just ok. The rooms are decorated in 90s style - not brought up to new standards. Clean and fine but did not feel like a 5 star hotel. The hallways are dark and not well decorated. The outdoor pool is not heated so in this chilly weather, it was impossible to use and the indoor pool, which was fine, is only open to kids until 7pm. The executive lounge was fine - but again, decorated in an outdated way. Dark and not terribly inviting. Perhaps if the weather had been hot, the hotel would have seemed better, but overall it is just ok from service to food to decor. I'm not sure what hotel would have been better as we have been told that none are really luxury hotels .... yet.
"Beautiful View, Great Breakfast Buffet"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Westin for 2 nights in March and we had a nice stay overall. Pros: -Definitely get the breakfast buffet. It was fresh and delicious with lots of variety! -We received a complementary cake for my birthday, delivered right to the room. We had no idea about it - it was super nice! -Beds are comfy, shower had good pressure and amazing view from the balcony. -Used the pool once - it was empty so really enjoyable! TIP - if you go to the pool/gym they give you a free bottle of water. Cons: -There were strong winds the two days we were there. We were on the 7th floor and the whole first night we heard furniture scratching across the floor, doors banging etc. Finally at around 3AM we called down to the first desk. Turns out the 8th floor had construction and the workers forgot to close the doors. We were assured it wouldn't happen again. Well, the second night it happened AGAIN. This time we held out until midnight and called the front desk again. Needless to say, we didn't sleep for the duration of our stay. Not totally the hotels fault - can't change the weather, but it was a bit of a bummer. The Guest Relations Manager did give us lunch vouchers for the problem, however we haven't been able to use them as we were at the end of our vacation. -As everyone else has mentioned, wifi is not included. Not sure why they can't just include it with the rooms...' Overall, I would stay here again!
"Great resort, outstanding service."
We stayed at the Westin, a family of 10 for 5 days booked through a travel agency. From the min of check in until our check out the staff was amazing. I was very impressed with the front office management (Neil) that was patient, pleasant and creative. Truly a great first impression. Rooms we got were very nice with a great view. Pool and beach were very nice although they are more summer oriented. Indoor pool and gym are top notch. I have not seen such a fully equipped gym in many hotels. It was a real plus to our stay. Breakfast is very good with a full omelet station and good verity although not enough fresh vegetables and no soft cheese. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was very good. My only recommendation for improvement would be the bell boys that seemed very busy but did not have the same level of service as the rest of the hotel staff we met. In one example we got back from a long day of diving and had 4 used towels in a bag. I asked the bell boy (long dress kind of uniform) were I can leave the towels and he just pointed to the pool are one floor down and just said -There. Not a big deal but kind of felt rude. All-in-all one of the best hotels I have stayed in in the world (yes, the world). Thanks to a great team of dedicate individuals provided awesome service.
"Perfect in every way"
Wonderful amenities: from bar to pool from gym to breakfast. Large room, comfortable bed, lovely staff. Perfect for a couples retreat and short walks to restaurants and sights. We have been here twice and will return again soon.
"Excellent stay at Malta"
We had an excellent stay at the Westin Dragonara in Malta. All the staff in the hotel are nothing short of amazing. A special shout to Pam and Petra at the executive lounge for taking care of us during our stay. Malta is a beautiful island with lots of things to do. Would definitely recommend staying at the Westin.
