"Great hotel with amazing pool and beach"
The hotel is situated near to Dubai Marina and Media City which is a great location and benefits from sprawling swimming pools, gardens and private beach. The hotel rooms are large and very well appointed, with enormous bathrooms. If you are staying on a Friday then you must visit Bubblicious Brunch and enjoy the show!
"Magical Vacation, outstanding hotel, except the nights..."
We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in October for a family vacation with our two little children (3 & 5 years). Our vacation was absolutely magical. Dubai is awesome during this time of the year! The hotel is outstanding - service and facility-wise it is more of a 6 star than a 5 star hotel - compared with European hotels. The first thing we noticed is the impeccable service in this hotel - from the housekeeping to restaurants, kids club, concierge, spa or pool - everyone is professional, polite and children friendly. The beach is super clean, the ocean clear! There are securities on all of the pools and beach - an awesome plus if you travel with little children. There are pools for everyone. The kids pool is huge with a slide and it´s sheltered. You will also find an adults pool and beach area. The hotel has a partnership with the Meridien next to it. So you can use the gym and kids club there as well. Not that you would necessarily need it, but there are small shuttles who drive you from one hotel to the other. It is just a 3 min walk. The gym at the Meridien is outstanding, as well as the kids club. The kids club is very modern, with a big indoor and huge outdoor playground. Great thanks to Domi and his amazing team (esp. Malik) who made our kids feel comfortable although they don´t speak any English. The kids club is open from 10 am until 6 pm; on the weekend a little longer. Great, diverse programme there all day. Also the concierges weren´t tired (great thanks to Fred and all those helpful hands at the concierge desk!) to help out professionally at all times. We had booked the executive rate which means we had some great features included: Transfer in a limousine from and to the airport, breakfast, snack and cocktail with snacks, special offer at the spa etc. Food and drink wise this rate is kind of all inclusive, but not for overindulgence (which was perfect for us!); the executive buffet on the 8th floor is way smaller than at the Blue Ocean Buffet restaurant, but it´s of great quality, the atmosphere is very quiet and exclusive and moreover all the waiters there are super professional, friendly and kind. The housekeeping is doing an amazing job - everything is clean at all times, they check the room several times a day, they put complimentary water bottles in the room and moreover they are extremly friendly. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the hotel we couldn´t even try them all. They are quite pricey, though. Since the hotel offers babysitter service we could also dine out a few nights. Our babysitter was lovely and very professional as well - it´s 40 AED per hour. There were also families who booked babysitters during the day. The Westin Mina Seyahi is well located so that you can reach everything (Malls, Madinat, Palm etc.) with a cab or rental car within minutes. The downside of this location is the noise. The first 12 days we had a room with a gorgeous sea view, which we had to change for the last 2 nights because the weekend was ahead. So the only problem (for us - personally!) of this hotel is the location next to the Barasti (an open air nightclub) which belongs to the Meridien next to it and played sometimes music until 3 am. From 14 nights we can count on one hand where our sleep wasn´t disturbed by extremely loud disco music etc. For the last two nights we changed our room to city view since we knew the weekend was coming. Even when we changed our sea view to city view room for the last two nights we heard the noise from the street, cars racing etc. - even with earplugs and windows closed!!! How unfortunate! Luckily on a vacation you have time to relax during the day, but from an expensive luxury hotel we expect to be able to sleep at all nights (without earplugs etc.). Would we come back' Definately yes, if they only can find a solution to the nightly noise (fix / change their windows etc.). This whole thing is such a pity since every person in this hotel puts so much effort in their work.
"Can't wait to return"
This was our third time in Dubai but our first time at the Westin. The service, rooms, restaurants and pool were all first class. We were lucky to have a free upgrade to half board which allowed us to choose to spend our daily food allowance however we chose. We booked an executive lounge access room and it was certainly worth the extra, the staff were efficient and friendly. Looking forward to our return.
"Beautiful, just beautiful"
Stayed here for 3 nights during our stopover in Dubai and we really impressed. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was lovely and spacious with views over the palm. The pool area is beautiful and the private beach a bonus. We felt the dining room was quite pricey for what it was but food was nice. On the day of departure we were offered a courtesy room to get changed in which had great facilities and tea making facilities in a bar area. Top notch hotel hope to stay again one day.
