My son and I stayed here for two nights. The room was beautiful as it looked over the Grand Canal and the choice on the other side of the water. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and fabulous; complete with Prosecco, smoothies, cappuccino, fresh fruit and a variety of cooked eggs and meat. The location was perfect. It is a bit tough to find the first time. Look for the Salvatore Ferragamo shop and take a left into the alley. The outside patio was heated and enclosed so it was nice, if a bit pricey (18€ per glass of Chardonnay), to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. We ordered a movie in the room and it cost 20€. They gave me a lovely box of chocolates upon arrival as a welcome because I'm a Plat Lifetime status. All in all it was a great hotel, good service, and a very nice breakfast. If I were to visit Venice again, I would stay here again.
"Perfect location... Perfect view!"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last summer. My husband used SPG points to book this room. At check in we were upgraded which is always welcomed and kind. The Room: Our room had a large balcony with an amazing view of the grand canal! We were able to take so many fantastic photos from the balcony which was really the highlight of the room. I do not remember hearing any sounds or noises at night. We slept very soundly. The area around the bed was a a tight fit for our oversized suitcases but there was a nice desk that my husband could work from in the mornings. The bathroom was spacious enough but slightly outdated with pinkish orange marble everywhere. Also, the shower/bath does not have a full glass door so water does tend to spray on the floor a little bit. The Restaurant: We did not dine at the restaurant but we did enjoy drinks with a beautiful view of the grand canal. The drinks were excellent and small complimentary snacks were served with our drinks. Definitely stop and have a drink outside on the patio... One of the better views in Venice. Concierge: They were very helpful and knowledgable. They helped us get a reservation at one of the more difficult spots to dine at. The name is escaping me... On a platform out on the canal. I highly recommend it! They provided useful maps as well but in Venice you are still bound to get slightly lost. :-) Overall we had a lovely stay at the Westin Europa and Regina and would love to visit this hotel again! Thank you for your hospitality and for making our time in Venice so memorable!
"Terrible experience "
The hotel is located in a great area but it lacks enough staff. One or two people at the front desk. No bellman. Night security covers everything. The rooms are abominably HOT and there is NO AIRCONDITIONING. Its turned off for the season. We were encouraged to open our windows and let 16000 mosquitos in to savagely eat us alive. This is my second night of no sleep. Can't stay here on vacation if you think for a minute you can you're wrong. Hot hot hot.
"Excellent location and service"
Well located, right on the grand canal and they gave me two connected rooms overlooking the Grand canal as well as a lovely box of chocolates each due to SPG Gold Status. Rooms were on the smallish side but well decorated and the bathrooms were huge and opulent. The mattress as usual were to the usual Westin standards- heavenly and the only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that the rooms do not have Air conditioning, only heating and this may be the norm in all of venice. Even though it was in the 50'sF outside, the rooms were very stuffy and we had to sleep with the heating turned off and the windows open. The lobby, the lounge and the concierge services were all to Westin standards- outstanding. Had to book an early morning water taxi to the airport and the rates were very reasonable, 125 Euros and when there was fog and not safe to use the water taxi all the way to the airport, the hotel arranged for the water taxi to drop us off at the train terminal and private van to take us from there to the airport. Will definitely stay here again despite the lack of Air conditioning.
Slightly belated review, but I just wanted to say thank you very much. The hotel staff were always friendly, attentive and helpful. In particular, we were very grateful for the kind gesture you made by leaving a bottle of prosecco and some chocolate cake in our room for my wife's birthday...it was a lovely surprise. Fantastic location, too. Highly recommended.
