"Perfect location and beautiful hotel!"
Stayed here 3 nights in May. Location is great, on the Grand Canal! Right next to St. Marks square, water taxi's and many other attractions. Also lots of restaurants, bars and cafe's within walking distance. The hotel is a few alleys away from the main street which makes it nice and quiet. We took a private water taxi from the train station to the hotel and then from the hotel to the airport. I would highly suggested the water taxi, you are in Venice, why not enjoy the canals and views on your way to the hotel! Rooms were a little dated but plenty of room for 2 people and beds were super comfy. I personally loved the décor as it had a venetian feel to it. Our room did not have a balcony but not sure I would of paid extra, we were out walking around so much and barely in our room. We had no problem with the staff. Everyone was super friendly from when we arrived until we left. You get a great view of the grand canal from the hotels terrace! The hotel itself is also very beautiful inside. We were very happy with our hotel choice in Venice.
We were here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and it turned out to be our favorite place of the 5 we visited! We were given an amazing room that was huge with a private deck that had table and chairs as well as chaise lounges where we would sit each evening with a glass of wine and just take in the beauty around us. The staff were kind and helpful, sending us champagne and even refilling the ice when we didn't finish the bottle to make sure it stayed cold. The location is spot on and walking distance to St. Marks and plenty of shopping and dining options. Our package included a breakfast buffet and it did not disappoint with a huge variety of options including hot items, cakes, breads, fruits, yogurts, etc. Without a doubt we would return here and enjoy another relaxing and peaceful vacation!
Not at all what we were expecting from this hotel Although the room had a balcony thank goodness so we could have some outside space The room was not made up one day ! The prices were astronomical - €20 for a mojito Don't have anything from the bar , find a supermarket for snacks n drinks The food left a lot to be desired Breakfast is served til 11am don't even wait til ten because it's all dried up n crusty ! Staff officious not friendly I can honestly say from Saturday to Wednesday when walking in / out not one staff member said hello !! I won't be back - oh and ask for a room away from the lift otherwise all you will hear is the pinging !!
"Location that can not be beat"
First time in Venice and chose this hotel for it's location and that we got. The property faces the Grand Canal with an entrance down a winding set of streets. A water taxi from the airport is such easier than the boat. Style and service is typical European well trained staff. Our room was on the backside of the hotel with no view, older room in need of some refresh, but otherwise very comfortable. The hotel has a great bar which you can also dine in, which we preferred for dinner. Breakfast is splendid with tables overlooking the canal. really well done buffet with all that one could want, even us Americans! Your close to water transportation and shops galore
"Why charge more for a non smoking room when this is a non smoking property"
I booked two award rooms for two nights each and according to Starwood and the hotel website I had to use additional points to book a non smoking room. Upon check in I learned that the hotel is completely smoke free. I find it unacceptable that the hotel wants you to pay for a double upgrade for a non smoking room when in fact the hotel is smoke free. If you search prior reviews on this website you will see that they have been doing this for a number of years. This is a nice property and a 5 star hotel and I expect more from them than this type of activity.
