"Nice hotel in convenient area with superb staff"
We enjoyed our stay at the excelsior mainly due to the staff: Noemi, Leonardo, and PeterPaulo. The hotel itself was nice and clean and we were upgrade don our room due to it being our honeymoon. We had a small suite with a patio and nice Duomo views. We enjoyed the 6th floor bar views. Prices were a bit high as to be expected. The location and access from the hotel is very good. Room was comfortable and maid service good. The bathroom showed some wear in places. We used hotel points for our stay and got complimentary breakfast, so we can;t really talk to the value. Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, great location. Walking distance of many restaurants and sites to see. Don't miss the rooftop bar. We had a mini suite with a view of the courtyard. Room and bathroom were elegant and comfortable. Can't wait to come back!
"Luxury hotel in an excellent location"
We only spent one night here, but it was lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to return. We had a deluxe river view room, which gave us two small step-out balconies overlooking the river - a beautiful view at all hours, from the golden sunset to the pastel colors of dawn mirrored in the glassy water. The room itself was very spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a huge marble bathroom. We chose the Westin because of its location, very convenient to the car rental offices on Borgo Ognissanti a block away. The train station is also within walking distance, particularly if you're not burdened with luggage. It's an easy walk to the duomo, museums, restaurants, Ponte Vecchio, etc. from the Westin as well.
"The rooftop for appetizers is phenomenal"
The rooftop was suggested to us by a local to have Aperitivo before dinner. This spot is perfect for watching the sunset over the hills. The approximate 220 degree views are perfect with the hills, river and the beautiful city. They make a stiff cocktail and the little buffet is just enough before dinner. The staff is very attentive but the views is why you must go up there. They do serve dinner on the other half of the rooftop but we chose another location. The views for dinner are also phenomenal and there is a patio as well as inside seating.
"Great location, nice Staff"
Just came back from visiting Florence and driving around the wine region. This is a very nice hotel with a great location. Good amenities and beautiful strolls to the downtown, shopping areas, river walks and nearby restaurants.
